It must be true...

I read it in the tabloids

■■Pat Moorehead of Long Beach, Calif., celebrated his 90th birthday by jumping out of an airplane—nine times. While it might sound impressive, on his 80th, he made 81 jumps. The retired firefighter, who took up the sport at 37, has made nearly 6,700 lifetime jumps all over the world, including New Zealand, Jordan, and Japan. The nonagenarian prefers not to brag about his exploits. “A true skydiver doesn’t think what he’s doing is so special,” Moorehead said. “It’s just part of his life.”

■■Madonna’s former Miami mansion has been put on the market for $31 million by its owner: a dog. The pop star sold the eightbedroom property in 2000 to the trust of Gunther IV, a German shepherd, who passed it down to grandson Gunther VI, the current owner. The dogs were beneficiaries of a trust, now worth almost $500 million, bequeathed to Gunther III by his owner, a German countess, when she died in 1992. Gunther VI, whose main residence is in Tuscany, travels by private jet and has a chef to prepare his meals. When in Miami, “he lives in Madonna’s former master bedroom,” said the sales agent. Gunther VI sleeps there on a round, velvet-covered bed, with a fine view of Biscayne Bay.

■■An Australian artist teamed up with a menswear brand to create a suit made of mustache hair. Artist Pamela Kleemann-Passi made the “Mo-Hair Suit” from bristle from donations and a firm that recycles hair from salons. “When hair is on your head, it looks really beautiful. But when it’s off the body, it creeps people out,” Kleemann-Passi said. “I’m interested in the polarity between what’s really voluptuous and what’s really repulsive.”
