The Week’s guide to what’s worth watching
Kevin Can F**k Himself
Chins up, sitcom wives. The show that took aim at the misogyny undergirding decades of American family comedies is back. Though Annie Murphy’s Allison has stumbled in her bid to have Kevin killed, she and all of her sympathizers at home have one more season to find out if her self-absorbed, nominally hilarious slouch of a husband gets his comeuppance. Monday, Aug. 22, at 9 p.m., AMC
Mo
Mo, a Palestinian refugee, blends in pretty well in Texas. But in this promising semi-autobiographical series starring stand-up performer Mo Amer, the protagonist’s daily life is also full of fish-outof-water comedy, as Mo supports his family by selling knockoff luxury goods and forever dodges immigration agents who could deport him to a land he scarcely knows. Amer, who co-created the show with Ramy’s Ramy Youssef, is as sharp here as on that Golden Globe–winning show. Farah Bsieso, as Mo’s shrewd mother, steals plenty of scenes, too. Available Wednesday, Aug. 24, Netflix
Running With the Devil: The Wild World of John McAfee
Of all the eccentrics and megalomaniacs to come out of Silicon Valley, John McAfee may rank as the kingpin. This frantic documentary focuses on the computer-security pioneer’s days on the run, when he was wanted for tax evasion, suspected of committing a murder in Belize, and eager to play the brilliant maverick being hunted because his software had given him access to too many secrets. Soon he’d be found dead in a jail cell. Available Wednesday, Aug. 24, Netflix
Welcome to Wrexham
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney must have been very inspired by Ted Lasso. In late 2020, the two screen actors purchased the Wrexham Red Dragons, a fifth-tier pro soccer team in workingclass North Wales. Documentary cameras have followed the adventure ever since, and in this series, a story that could have been played for laughs instead runs on heart, as the rich outsiders put genuine effort into lifting up the club and its town. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 10 p.m., FX
Everything I Know About Love
Who doesn’t love a late-summer romp of a series about life in one’s early 20s? A British import based on Dolly Alderton’s award-winning 2018 memoir could reasonably be called Girls U.K. It follows a quartet of London flatmates through their wild nights, hookups, and romances. But tension builds between Emma Appleton’s party ringleader and her bestie when the latter edges toward life’s next chapter. Available Thursday, Aug. 25, Peacock

Samaritan
Yes, Sylvester Stallone has a new series. Think Rocky as a wizened superhero who can’t quit fighting street crime even while trying to lie low as a city garbage collector. Available Friday, Aug. 26, Amazon Prime
