An American Bombing
Twenty-nine years after the largest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history, this documentary re-examines the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, focusing on the deadly attack’s roots in a farm crisis that emerged in the late 1970s and sparked anti-government and white nationalist fury that has never fully dissipated. Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, the perpetrators of the bombing, are shown to have been cultivated by that movement. Tuesday, April 16, on HBO and Max
Under the Bridge
In 1997, 14-year-old Reena Virk was bullied and murdered by a group of fellow teenagers at a late-night gathering on British Columbia’s Vancouver Island. In this new limited series, Riley Keough and Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone costar as a writer who returns to town to investigate the crime and a local police officer who’s also determined to resolve how the girls who bullied Virk could go so far. Dinner With the Parents
Previous attempts to Americanize the hit British sitcom Friday Night Dinner didn’t get far. This supremely wacky version has 10 episodes, with Michaela Watkins and Veep’s Dan Bakkedahl co-starring as a retired teacher and a dentist who host their two adult sons and assorted guests for weekly dinners that inevitably erupt into a cascade of pranks, inappropriate comments, and other cringeworthy moments. Conan O’Brien Must Go
Conan O’Brien is pretty good at traveling. In this new four-part series—a follow-up to his Emmywinning pre-Covid travel series—the talk show host journeys to Norway, Ireland, Argentina, and Thailand to mingle with locals, including fans.
