Guy Ames, owner of Ames Orchard and Nursery in Fayetteville, will present, “History Lessons for Today’s Organic Fruit Growers,” at noon at the at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Ames has over 40 years’ experience as an organic fruit-grower, specializing in producing both fruit and fruit plants adapted to Ozarks conditions. He is also a horticulture specialist with ATTRA, the national sustainable agriculture information service managed by the National Center for Appropriate Technology. The Bella Vista Friends of the Library will be holding a Treasurers and Trinkets Yard Sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations will be accepted during regular business hours at the Bella Vista Library, 11 Dickens Place, beginning June 13. No clothing or shoes, please. Donations and contributions to the Friends are used to support the ongoing drive to expand the library’s physical space. The rain date is Saturday, June 18. Pineville/Jane American Legion Post 392 will be having a Fish Fry for their Third Friday benefit dinner. The dinner will be prepared by the Legion and Auxiliary. Serving will start at 4:30 p.m. A donation of $7 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under is requested. Everyone is welcome, and carry-outs are available. The Legion building is located on Jessie James Road next to the Cornerstone Bank in Pineville, Mo. Saturday, June 18 s Jack Bardwell and Mary McCully, members of Springdale for Monarchs, will present “Monarch Metamorphosis: The Life Cycle of a Monarch Butterfly,” at 1 p.m. at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. The Bella Vista Woodcarvers will conduct a program for children at the Amazeum from 10 am to noon. They will be making knives from ice cream sticks and showing the children how to carve using bars of soap. They will also have on display some of wood carvings and the carving knives and tools used to make their finished pieces.
