Thank you for the success

As commander of Willard E. “Rocky” Glidewell American Legion Post 341, I offer this letter as my “Thank you” to all of those who made our ninth annual charity golf tournament on June 4 a true success.

There are so many people to thank.

First, my thanks to Window World of Springdale for their donation of the goody bags. I thank Arvest Bank in Town Center for providing the grill and a crew for cooking our lunch that day. Tyson made sure everybody had a lunch by donating 200 hamburger patties. And Steve Morrow from Allen’s Food Market provided the hamburger buns.

Dozens of local businesses and others donated $100 each for a tee box sponsor. And many more provided items for door prizes and/or raffle items.

A big shout out to Joe Aubrey and his team at Kingsdale Golf Center for their professionalism and help with all that goes into such an event.

To the golfers who came out and supported us – a huge “Thanks.”

To the ladies of Post 341 Ladies Auxiliary, who are always there when we need them – thank you.

And I would be remiss if I did not express my gratitude to those who served on our golf tournament committee this year and all the others who volunteered in one way or another to help.

Last, but by far not least, I thank Tom Meacham for his taking on the job of golf committee chairman – his first year – and doing a superb job. Without him things might have gone quite differently.

This was truly a team effort. And I look forward to our 10th event in 2017! Douglas Grant Bella Vista
