A popular Property Owners Association event designed for families is getting a face-lift. The annual Easter Egg Hunt is moving to Metfield Park this year.

The Easter Egg Hunt is planned for Saturday, April 15, beginning at 10 a.m, Recreation Director Joan Glubczynski said.

There were two reasons for the move to Metfield, she explained. There are more young families in that area, she said, and it’s also a chance for members to see the new bike-skill park.

A local bike store, GPP Cycling, is co-sponsoring the event and offering free bike safety checks. Glubczynski hopes many of the young egg hunters bring their bicycles along to try out the new park, which was designed to introduce mountain-bike skills to new riders.

The Easter Bunny will also be part of the event, with photos available beginning at 9:30 a.m. Prints will be made immediately.

This year, the Easter Egg Hunt will be divided into four age groups in four separate areas. The hunts won’t begin at the same time, Glubczynski promised, so parents of multiple children will have the opportunity to watch various age groups.

Each division will have one golden egg, which can be traded in for a grand prize, she said.

The recreation staff hand fills the eggs each year. It takes a long time, she said, to fill 10,000 eggs with candy and toys.

There won’t be an inside carnival this year, she said. The entire event will take place outside.
