Janice ‘Jan’ F. Hutcherson
Janice “Jan” F. Hutcherson, 81, died Thursday, March 2, 2017, in Bella Vista, Ark. She was born Aug. 18, 1935, in Auburn, Kan., to Carl H. and Janet W. Moore.
She graduated from Auburn High School in 1953. She left the Auburn/ Topeka area to make her home in Illinois, Texas and Maine, returning to Topeka in 1966, where she was the food service manager at Pennant Cafeteria, Eudora Public Schools and State Office Building Cafeteria.
She and her husband, Dick, moved to Bella Vista in 1998 to spend their retirement years playing golf. She worked for the Property Owners Association from 1998 to 2011 at Metfield Golf Shop.
She was an active member of United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista, where she served on Altar Guild, as an usher, WELCA, as co-chairman of reception committee, member of choir and in the Bell Canto singing group.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, on Feb. 27, 2016; a brother, Paul Moore; an infant sister, Barbara Jean Moore; and a granddaughter, Sarah Anno.
She is survived by her children, Bob Boldra and wife Jodi of Effingham, Kan., Carl Boldra and wife Libby of Neodesha, Kan., and Sue Cowan and husband Dwight, Deana Haslett and husband Steve, and Kim Anno and husband Rick, all of Topeka, Kan.; a brother, Don Moore of Allentown, Pa.; a sister, Mary Gillespie and husband Jim of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were at United Lutheran Church on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
