Musuem ex­tends sum­mer hours

The Bella Vista His­tor­i­cal Mu­seum con­tin­ues to be open five days per week, Wed­nes­day through Sun­day, but ef­fec­tive Aug. 2, the new hours will be 1 to 5 p.m.

Late-af­ter­noon vis­i­tors will now have more time to ex­plore the mu­seum and check out all the ex­hibits re­flect­ing the more-than 100year his­tory of Bella Vista. A spe­cial tem­po­rary ex­hibit of a va­ri­ety of an­tiques is on dis­play through the end of Septem­ber, cour­tesy of Steve Mor­row.

“Our all vol­un­teer staff at the mu­seum is very ap­pre­cia­tive of the com­mu­nity’s sup­port of the mu­seum, with on­go­ing fi­nan­cial help from the City of Bella Vista and ser­vices pro­vided by the Prop­erty Own­ers As­so­ci­a­tion, as well as do­na­tions re­ceived from in­di­vid­u­als,” said Xyta Lu­cas, pres­i­dent of the Bella Vista His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety which op­er­ates the mu­seum.

“In­come from mem­ber­ships, which cost $15 per year for in­di­vid­u­als, $25 per year for fam­i­lies, and $50 per year for busi­nesses, also help. Do­na­tions of goods are al­ways ap­pre­ci­ated, too. S
