Musuem extends summer hours
The Bella Vista Historical Museum continues to be open five days per week, Wednesday through Sunday, but effective Aug. 2, the new hours will be 1 to 5 p.m.
Late-afternoon visitors will now have more time to explore the museum and check out all the exhibits reflecting the more-than 100year history of Bella Vista. A special temporary exhibit of a variety of antiques is on display through the end of September, courtesy of Steve Morrow.
“Our all volunteer staff at the museum is very appreciative of the community’s support of the museum, with ongoing financial help from the City of Bella Vista and services provided by the Property Owners Association, as well as donations received from individuals,” said Xyta Lucas, president of the Bella Vista Historical Society which operates the museum.
“Income from memberships, which cost $15 per year for individuals, $25 per year for families, and $50 per year for businesses, also help. Donations of goods are always appreciated, too. S
The museum is located on U.S. Highway 71, at the corner of Kingsland Road, next door to the American Legion. Admission is free. For more information, see www.bellavistamuseum.org and check out the museum’s Facebook page.
