St. Bernard Catholic Church
March 23 will be the last fish fry sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Tickets are $10 per person and must be purchased in advance. They are for sale after every Mass and in the office. The fry will begin at 5 p.m. and is open to the public.
Stations of the Cross will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 23, in the church.
Bella Vista Baptist Church
Senior Adult Movie Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 23, in Grace Hall. The movie, “In The Name of God,” is a story of giving thanks. The community is invited to a night of entertainment, ice cream and fellowship.
Threads of Love meets at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, in Room 142. Threads of Love is making handcrafted items to meet some of the needs in the community. The community is welcome to join in the endeavor, and new project ideas are always welcome.
Bella Vista Community Church
The last Lenten soup supper and meditation will be held in McKay Hall on March 21. Lasagna will be served at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $3 per person or $5 per family. Please call to sign up. Meditations begin at 6:20 p.m.
Newcomers’ Orientation is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the parlor, for anyone interested in learning more about the church. Please sign up to attend.
Bella Vista Lutheran Church
Wednesday night Lenten service will be at 6 p.m., March 21, with a supper served at 5:15 p.m.
Palm Sunday, March 25, there will be one worship service at 9:30 a.m.
Maundy Thursday, March 29, there will be a celebration of the Lord’s Supper worship service at 6 p.m.
Good Friday, March 30, there will be the service of darkness, Good Friday Tenebrae, at 6 p.m.
Saturday, March 31, there will be an Easter egg hunt on church property at 4 p.m.
Easter Sunday, April 1, there will be two worship services at 8:30 a.m. (traditional) and 10:45 a.m. (blended).
Forest Hills Church
Friday, March 23, Debbie and Keith Meyers, who partner with the Council of Rural Indigenous Evangelicals of Mexico, Ark., to provide pastoral accompaniment to the indigenous churches, will be sharing their ministry work with the indigenous people of Mexico at 9 a.m. The community is invited to attend.
Highlands Church
The community is invited to the following Easter services:
Maundy Thursday Service at 6 p.m. March 29. There will be a “simple supper” of soup, bread and water served in the Fellowship Hall. The meal is part of the worship service and will conclude with a silent entry into the sanctuary for the stripping of the altar. Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper, the Garden of Gethsemane and Jesus’ arrest.
Carry the cross and walk as Jesus walked. The Cross Walk is at 2:30 p.m. Good Friday, March 30, weather permitting. The Walk begins at the Highlands Golf Course parking lot and travels along Glasgow Road to the church, about a quarter of a mile. If unable to make the walk, please stand along the road nearer the church and join the procession as it passes, or meet the cross as it arrives at Highlands Church about 2:45 p.m. There will be a very brief service ending at the time it is thought Jesus died, 3 p.m.
On Easter morning, April 1, there will be two services: traditional at 9:30 a.m. and contemporary at 11 a.m. A Continental Breakfast will be served before each service from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. or 10:15 to 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall.
There will be a community Easter egg hunt at 12:15 p.m., immediately following the contemporary service.
Highland Christian Church
Highland Christian Church invites the community to the following Easter services:
• Palm Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. March 25.
• Maundy Thursday evening service at 5:30 p.m. March 29. A 24-hour prayer vigil will follow.
• Easter early service at 8:30 a.m., April 1, at Forrest Hills Church — this will be a combined service with a breakfast immediately after the service.
• Easter service at 10:30 a.m., April 1, at Highland Christian Church.
Unitarian Universalists
March 25, Keith S. Foster, public information officer, Rogers Police, will present “Dealing with an Active Shooter: Avoid, Deny, Defend.” Attendees are invited to bring food to share for the Crockpot Challenge potluck which follows the talk. Bottles of shampoo for distribution through Samaritan Center will be collected.
United Lutheran Church
Watoto Children's Choir Concert: Signs and Wonders — 7 p.m., March 27 — The community is invited to share in a night of music and fellowship with amazing children. The concert will feature worship songs that share the stories of the children and the hope they have because of God's love. This is a free event. For questions, please call the church office.
Thursday, March 29, there is a Seder Meal planned at 6 p.m. Seating begins at 5:45 p.m., with a $1 ticket or a donated canned good. Call 479-855-1325 to RSVP. Maundy Thursday service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Good Friday service will be held at 7 p.m. March 30.
Unity Church of the Ozarks
At 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, the Unity Church of the Ozarks will host a unique variety show of music, comedy, dance and more, presenting Armand and Angelina, blending rock and opera and incorporating Native American flutes. A love offering suggested.
Native Flute Playshop will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, March 23. Practice flutes will be provided to experience the mesmerizing sounds. Flutes will also be available to purchase for $20.
Rev. Elise Cowan will present “Why Me” on Palm Sunday, March 25, at the 10:30 a.m. service.
Village Bible Church
Wednesday, March 21, the Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries and would appreciate the compassion and encouragement of friendly volunteers.
Pastor Mark Voll will continue his “The Gospel of Mark!” sermon series. This Sunday's sermon is titled “King Jesus!” with a text of Mark 11:1-11.
At 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, a ladies' KniTTogether ministry and the White Cross Women's Mission ministry will meet. These ladies enjoy informal fellowship while working on projects that benefit needy children and adults in the area, as well as a hospital in Congo. Any ladies from the community are welcome to come and learn more about these ministries.
Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista
The Easter Bunny will make an appearance in the fellowship hall following the 10 a.m. Easter Sunday service on April 1. The members of PCBV warmly invite Bella Vista families to celebrate Easter with them and meet the Easter Bunny after the service.
