Pres­by­te­rian Church of Bella Vista

Did you make a New Year’s res­o­lu­tion to be more ac­tive in 2019? If so, PCBV’s ex­er­cise class might be a per­fect fit for you. This class meets in fel­low­ship hall at 8 a.m. ev­ery Mon­day, Wed­nes­day and Fri­day for stretch­ing and low-im­pact ex­er­cise, us­ing a chair or a mat. Any­one who en­joys singing is wel­come to join in for a sing-along at High­lands Re­hab and Health­care Cen­ter at 2:30 p.m. Fri­day, Jan. 11. PCBV en­cour­age a all Bella Vista area com­mu­nity singers to join in lift­ing the spir­its of the High­lands res­i­dents!

There will be a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mon­day, Jan. 14, in the Fel­low­ship Hall. Sign up by call­ing the church of­fice at 479855-2390. Church mem­bers can sign up in Con­nec­tor Hall­way.

Uni­tar­ian Univer­sal­ists

Sun­day, Jan. 13: “Hope and De­spair” small group dis­cus­sion and the light­ing of the sixth of seven Chal­ica can­dles rep­re­sent­ing the Uni­tar­ian Univer­sal­ist sixth prin­ci­ple, The Goal of World Com­mu­nity with Peace, Lib­erty, and Jus­tice for All.

High­lands Church (United Methodist)

The next 10 week ses­sion of Flex ‘N Stretch be­gins Mon­day, Jan. 14, at High­lands Church. Classes meet at 7:30 a.m. Mon­day, Wed­nes­day and Fri­day in the Peter Class­room. The mis­sion is to chal­lenge, en­cour­age and pro­mote bet­ter health through phys­i­cal ex­er­cise. You can at­tend one les­son, all 30 lessons, or some­where in-be­tween — what­ever works for you! Flex ‘N Stretch is a well­ness pro­gram of ac­tiv­i­ties which pro­vides a higher qual­ity of life through re­spon­si­ble move­ment that is pain free and pos­si­ble for all par­tic­i­pants. This well-or­ga­nized ex­er­cise pro­gram teaches all par­tic­i­pants, in­clud­ing se­niors, how to do the ex­er­cises eas­ily and safely. Ben­e­fits of the pro­gram in­clude in­creased range of mo­tion, co­or­di­na­tion, strength, bal­ance and agility, all of which im­prove the qual­ity of life and lead to longer in­de­pen­dent liv­ing. Vil­lage Bi­ble Church

Wed­nes­day, Jan. 9, the Oa­sis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. This min­istry is avail­able to any­one in the area who needs help with gro­ceries and would ap­pre­ci­ate the com­pas­sion and en­cour­age­ment of friendly vol­un­teers.

Sun­day, Jan. 13, Pas­tor Mark Voll will be­gin a new ser­mon se­ries ti­tled “God’s Mis­sion & Jonah’s Dilemma.” This Sun­day’s ser­mon is ti­tled “A Study through the book of Jonah — Part 1.”

Bella Vista Com­mu­nity Church

On Satur­day, Jan. 19, at 9 a.m. in McKay Hall, Carie O’Ban­ion speaks on her 400-mile walk across north­ern Spain known as “Camino de San­ti­ago.” Her jour­ney and pre­sen­ta­tion in­cludes many in­ter­est­ing pho­tos. Unity Church of the Ozarks

Stand­ing in Peace takes place Sun­day Jan. 13 fol­low­ing the 10:30 a.m. ser­vice “Zero Point.” For spe­cial prayer needs, con­tact the Rev. Elise at min­is­[email protected]­ty­ozarks.org.

Kelly McDow­ell will fa­cil­i­tate a Mind-Body Heal­ing Group from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sun­day, Jan, 13 that will ex­plore du­al­is­tic be­liefs and share new heal­ing ex­er­cises. This ses­sion is $25.

First United Methodist Church

The Prayer Shawl Min­istry meets from 10 to 11 a.m. ev­ery Fri­day in Room 6 for an hour of vis­it­ing and stitch­ing. All are wel­come to this meet­ing, es­pe­cially those who would like to learn how to knit. The shawls are given to shut-ins, those who are griev­ing and to oth­ers in spe­cial cir­cum­stances. Each shawl is prayed over and blessed as it is be­ing made.

Two weekly meet­ings of AA are hosted at the church on Mondays and Satur­days. Please call or stop by the church for more in­for­ma­tion.

The Chan­cel Choir and Chan­cel Hand­bell Choir would like to have more folks join. The Chan­cel Bells meet in the Mu­sic Room at 3:15 p.m. ev­ery Wed­nes­day, and the Chan­cel Choir meets at 4:45 p.m. ev­ery Wed­nes­day in the Sanctuary.
