Rules Workshop
The Bella Vista Women’s Golf Club Rules Committee is hosting the “2019 Rules Workshop” beginning at 7:45 a.m. with a continental breakfast and followed by the workshop at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, at Highlands Methodist Church, located at 371 Glasgow Road in Bella Vista. Darryl Muldoon, director of golf operations, and his staff will review many of the changes to the USGA rules. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers. Women’s 9-Hole Golf
The Women’s 9-Hole Golf Association is about making friends, playing golf and promises of warm weather and warm friendships. The typical season runs from April to September, with play on Monday mornings. The Spring Brunch will be held on Monday, March 25, at Riordan Hall, with more details to follow. 3-Person Scramble
This tournament is slated for play on the Kingswood golf course Saturday, March 30, and Sunday, March 31, for all golfers with a verifiable handicap. Both days begin with coffee at 8 a.m. and a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Following final round play on Sunday, lunch and awards will take place at Riordan Hall. To maintain the pace of play, there is a maximum score of a double bogey on each hole. The entry fee is $135 per team ($45 per player) plus applicable green/cart fees. Entry fee includes one mulligan per player, per day; coffee; team and contest prizes; and lunch following the final round. Registration deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, with a $10 late registration fee if applicable.
“Lions” Golf Classic
Golfers and sponsors are requested for the 17th annual Gravette High School Lions Golf Classic set for Saturday, May 4, “Rain or Shine,” at the Scotsdale Golf Course in Bella Vista. The classic is open to all men and women golfers, a four-person scramble and automatic two-putt. There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m., and lunch will be served after play at the Highlands Club House. Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin, holein-one and longest drive. The cost for the four-person scramble is $55 for AGGF, and others are $70 or $90 per person, which includes golf fee.
Sponsored by the Gravette High School Boosters, this golf event is a major fundraiser for drama, music, art, cheerleader, athletic and academic programs for the school. Call John Edwards at 479-876-1192 or Norman Mitchell at 479-787-4184 for registration and hole sponsorship information.
