Arthur Bregel Jr.
Arthur Bregel Jr., 82, of Bella Vista, Ark., died at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Monday, Jan. 6, 2020.
He was born Sept. 24, 1937, the son of Arthur and Rosemarie Bregel in Far Rockaway, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laura Bregel; and son, Barry Bregel.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara M. Bregel; children, Linda (David) Sanford, William (Elizabeth) Bregel; sister, Nancy (Steve) Kornfeld; and four grandchildren.
A rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, One St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 1201 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, AR 72712.

Rita Gail (Martin) Garrison
Rita Gail (Martin) Garrison, 67, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, after an extended illness.
She was born July 5, 1952, in Pine Bluff, Ark. She was a graduate of Henderson University in Arkadelphia and was an office manager for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Max Garrison; a daughter, Melissa Garrison of Bella Vista; a son, Aaron Garrison (Libby) of Kansas City; three brothers, Rick Martin and Mike Beezley, both of Bella Vista, and Kenneth Beezley of Little Rock.
An inurnment service was held Monday, Jan. 13, 2020, at Fayetteville National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Hiwasse First Baptist Church, 13512 W. Highway 72, Gravette, Ark., at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2020.

Mary Louise Hanlon
Mary Louise Hanlon, formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., died Dec. 16, 2019, in Little Rock.
She was born Sept. 27, 1927, in Madison,
Wis., to Joseph Herman Dahmen and
Regina Grosse Dahmen. She moved from Chicago suburbs to Bella Vista in 1985. She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, St. Bernard’s Women’s Club, and was a representative for “Care and Share” for more than 14 years. She was a Girl Scout leader, an avid golfer, bowler and card player.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Bernard Hanlon; her brothers, Al, John and James Dahmen; and sisters, Clara Dee and Lorena Gordon.
She is survived by two sons, James Hanlon Sr. (Bev) of New York, Michael Hanlon (Sandy) of Illinois; two daughters, Patty Gotway (Jerry) of Indiana, Kathy Hanlon of Little Rock; and an “adopted daughter,” Cindy Ford of Rogers; one sister, Dolores Shivler of Wisconsin; and nine grandchildren.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, One St. Bernard Lane. A memorial lunch will be celebrated in Chicago in the spring.

Jean Neill
Jean Neill, 95, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020.
She was born Aug. 30, 1924, to Frank and Verla Jessop in Lyndon, Kan. She grew up in Lyndon and attended Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., and was a clerk for the State Board of Health, bookkeeper for a law firm, deputy county treasurer and clerk of the district court (Osage County). She married Hobert Neill in July 1945. They lived in Kansas City for 30 years and retired to Bella Vista in 1983. She was a member of Bella Vista Community Church and she enjoyed playing golf, bridge and reading. She was a Stephen Minister and volunteered at the Bella Vista Public Library for 30 years.
Survivors include her children, Susan (Richard) Williams and Keith (Julia) Neill; two grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn (Don) Burns; and brother, Frank (Carol) Jessop.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, at Bella Vista Community Church, Bella Vista, with Anna Teel officiating. A private burial will be at Bella Vista Memorial Garden.

Mary Vesta (Gieseker) Pumphrey
Mary Vesta (Gieseker) Pumphrey, age 89, from Bella Vista, Ark., went to be with God on Sunday, January 5, 2020. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and received a BS degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Neb. Mary was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority, member and past President of PEO Chapter CD, Past Matron of Eastern Star, member and past President of Calico Cut-Ups, past President of Young at Heart Doll Club and active member of Highlands United Methodist Church. At Highlands United Methodist Church she served on several committees and sewed cookie covers for the Church’s Annual Cookie Walk for over 25 years.
Mary was known for her sweet nature and love for her family. Mary was a much-beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She enjoyed traveling, baking, cooking, learning and of course, quilting. She was an extremely accomplished quilter who loved to share and give of her time and talents. She spent over 13 years, donating hats and turbans for cancer patients. At last count, Mary and the volunteers made 4,000 turbans.
Preceded in death by her parents, Henry Lyle and Mida Vesta Gieseker, her two brothers Lyle Gieseker and Norman Gieseker, and her husband of 60 years, Paul Harvey Pumphrey. She is survived by her son, Ron May-Pumphrey and wife Mary Ann, son Robert Pumphrey; daughters Linda Pumphrey and Lorna Pumphrey; granddaughter, Lara Pumphrey and granddaughter Aimy (Pumphrey) Rouquie, and husband Yann.
If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to the Highlands Methodist Church in Bella Vista, Ark. Mary’s Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Feb. 18, 2020, at 10 a.m. at the Highlands United Methodist Church, Bella Vista, Ark.
