Jesse Richard Anderson

Jesse Richard “J.R.” Anderson, 81, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sunday, March 21, 2021.

He was born into a family of farmers on Feb. 25,

1940, in the Missouri town that bore his ancestral name, Anderson, Mo., founded in the late 1880s. He was one of eight children born to parents Ted and Jessie. He played varsity baseball at Anderson High, now known as McDonald County High, attended Joplin Junior College, and earned a bachelor’s degree in automotive science from Pittsburg State University in Kansas. He married Layne Anderson, a schoolteac­her, in 1963. He served in the Missouri National Guard for 14 years and worked 28 years for Allstate Corp until he retired in 1995. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. In 2002, they moved to Bella Vista and enjoyed traveling.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Ted Anderson of Fort Collins, Colo., Jerry Anderson of Seneca, Mo.; and sisters, Patsy Hackney of Norwalk, Calif., Helen Stephens of Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Layne Anderson; daughters, Ginger Bridis (Ted) of Gainesvill­e, Fla., Jill Anderson Patterson Stout (Mike) of Bella Vista; seven grandchild­ren; two brothers, Buddy Anderson (Marilyn) of Windsor, Colo., Paul Anderson (Donna) of Grove, Okla.; and sister, Connie Coonrod (Joe) of Rolla, Mo.

Graveside service was held Friday, March 26, 2021, at Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson, Mo.

Agnes Mildred Harbick

Agnes Mildred Harbick, 86, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at her home.

She was born March 8, 1935, in the town of Grover, Marinette, Wis., to Edward and Leona (Schleis) Schroder.

She moved to Bella Vista in 2005 from Milwaukee, Wis. She worked in human resources for several companies and volunteere­d at Mercy Hospital, the Bella Vista Library, and was involved with Neighborho­od Watch.

She is survived by her husband, Paul W. Harbick; one son, Michael J. Harbick and his wife; and one sister, Linda Carroll.

Betty Ruth Tidwell

Betty Ruth (Brigance) Tidwell was born on April 8, 1937, in Waldron, Arkansas, to Luther and Ruby (Shepherd) Brigance. She passed away on March 19,

2021, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. She is survived by: One son, Raymond Eddie Tidwell and companion, Sherry, of Collinsvil­le, OK

One granddaugh­ter, Loren Tidwell Craig and husband, Jason, of Tulsa, OK

Two great-grandsons, Brody and Braxton Craig of Tulsa, OK

Her siblings, Margaret Whiting of Rogers, AR; Judy Jordan of Keota, OK; Ronnie Brigance of McAlester, OK

Numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Tidwell; her parents, L.D. “Short” and Ruby Brigance; her sister, Helen Kates; and her great-grandson, Bentley Craig.

Betty grew up with four siblings, Mary Helen, Margaret Lorene, Judy Ann, and Ronnie Joe. She graduated from Keota High School.

Betty married Joe Tidwell on October 20, 1956, and they moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she worked in various secretaria­l jobs. She later would become an insurance agent and own her own successful business until she retired in May 1993. At that time, Betty and Joe moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, and built a new home. Joe was involved in a terrible accident and Betty spent her time taking care of him until he passed in 2005.

Betty had to move from Bella Vista in March of 2017. Her health had declined to a point that she could no longer live alone due to Parkinson’s Disease.

She moved to Collinsvil­le, Oklahoma, to live with her son Eddie and Sherry until April of 2018. Betty moved to The Highlands Senior Living Center where she enjoyed new friends. She remained there until her passing to be with the Lord and her husband.

Betty’s two great-grandsons were the light of her life. She cherished every visit from them.

She was exceedingl­y kind and soft-spoken, with a heart of gold. She would help anyone who came to her. She will be severely missed by friends and family.

Graveside Services were held at Stigler City Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, with Rev. Vernon Stone officiatin­g. Interment under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.
