The Bella Vista Animal Shelter Charity Garage Sale will be held June 22-29 at 2 Leafield Lane from 8 a.m.-4 p.m each day. Boxed donations of clean, gently-used items are now being collected. Contact hostess Anita Werts at 479-3662265 to schedule a drop-off appointmen­t at the storage facility. For large items and furniture, you will receive instructio­ns for a drop-off date. The preference is boxed and stackable items; please refrain from donating old TVs and do not deliver to the animal shelter at this time.

Thursday, April 18

• Artist Reception Night will be held at Wishing Spring Gallery, 8862 W. McNelly Road, from 5-7 p.m. on April 18. The evening will consist of presentati­ons from local artists. Drinks and food will be provided. Everyone is welcome to attend.

• St. Bernard Charity Bingo is played every third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Bernard parish hall in Bella Vista. April 18 is the next meeting. All are welcome. A snack bar is available.

April 19-20

The Bella Vista Fly Tyers will hold its annual Spring Sale from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road in Bella Vista, on both Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20.

April 19-21

Gear Garden in Blowing Springs Park opens the weekend of April 19-21 with a music lineup of Off The Grid (Friday, 5-8 p.m.), Rockin’ Roads Band (Saturday, 3-6 p.m.) and Brandon Mezzelo on Jazz Sunday, 4-7 p.m. Food trucks on this weekend will include Crackerjac­k, Beavertail­s, Sabroso, Dutch Oven on Wheels and Uncle Dandy’s Hot Dog Cart. Cheeky Face Painter will be on hand Saturday from 3-5 p.m.

Saturday, April 20

The Bella Vista Garden Club will host its first plant sale of the year on Saturday, April 20 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the club’s large greenhouse at Village Wastewater. More than 1,000 tomatoes, coleus plants and zinnias will be for sale. The varieties of plants are listed on the club’s website.

The club will accept cash, check, credit or debit cards. One-gallon pots are $7, and larger ones range from $10 to $50. New to this year’s sale will be a table set up by the Clay Studio at Wishing Spring to sell handmade clay pots.

The club’s perennial sale is set for June 1.

Sunday, April 21

The Bella Vista Farmers Market opens for the 2024 season on April 21. The market will be open each Sunday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., and special programs are held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Customer giveaways and community appreciati­on make for family-friendly market fun.

Friday, April 26

• The Bella Vista Recreation Center will shut down from April 26 through May 5 for upgrades that were delayed due to supply chain issues with the electrical panels of the facility. Acoustic improvemen­ts in the arena will also be made. These upgrades are necessary and the POA says members can look for fun giveaways when the facility reopens in May.

• The city of Bella Vista will host its Arbor Day tree planting ceremony April 26 at noon at the Riordan Trailhead on Riordan Road.

April 26-27

• Bella Vista’s annual Citywide Garage Sale will be held Friday and Saturday, April 26-27. For informatio­n visit bellavista­ar.gov/citywidega­ragesale.

• The Bella Vista Historical Museum is making available parking spaces on the museum grounds for individual­s who would like to participat­e in the Citywide Garage Sale April 26-27 but who don’t want to have a garage sale at home. Volunteer Dustie Meads is coordinati­ng this project as a fundraiser for the museum. The rent is $25 for one space or $45 for two spaces, covering both days. Refunds will be given only in case of rain. Set up will start each day at 8 a.m. with shutdown by 5 p.m.

Vendor vehicle parking will be at the rear of the property. Anyone interested in renting one or more spaces is invited to contact Meads at 479-381-8546 for details.
