Sandra Schultz

Sandra “Sandy” Jean Schultz, 77, passed away April 3, 2024, at Sunrise of Lenexa, Kan.

Sandy was born Jan. 6, 1947, to Lloyd and Boyce (Kees) Keller in Waterloo, Iowa. Sandy spent most of her childhood in Salina, Kan., before moving to Olla, La., for her senior year of high school to be closer to family.

Sandy briefly attended Louisiana Tech to study secretaria­l science and met John R. Schultz, who she married May 24, 1969. After the marriage, Sandy moved to Missouri where she worked off and on as a secretary. She welcomed her first and only child, Jennifer L. (Schultz) McCalmon, on Oct. 11, 1972.

Throughout her life, Sandy was an active participan­t in organizati­ons such as the Jaycees, her church Sunday school and other various social organizati­ons. Sandy eventually retired in Bella Vista, where she lived the remainder of her life.

Her daughter said Sandy’s proudest achievemen­t was becoming a grandmothe­r. She talked about her two grandchild­ren frequently and how proud she was of their accomplish­ments. She also found comfort in her faith and lived her life accordingl­y.

Sandy is survived by her husband, John R. Schultz; daughter, Jennifer L. (Schultz) McCalmon and her husband Kevin; and grandchild­ren, Meredith L. McCalmon and Owen R. McCalmon.

Funeral service was held Saturday, April 13, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe, Kan., with burial at Chickasaw Cemetery in Olla.

Joyce Kramer

Joyce Barbara Kramer, 83, of Bella Vista passed away March 2, 2024, in Rogers. She was born in Seattle to Donald and Dorothy Geimeier on July 18, 1940.

She grew up and attended school in Buffalo, N.Y. While working at Westinghou­se after high school she met and married the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Kramer. Joyce and Dick were married June 18, 1960, in Buffalo. During their early years of marriage, they lived in Buffalo, Greenville, S.C., St. Louis, Oklahoma City, and spent many happy years in Idabel, Okla. Upon retirement, Joyce and Dick moved to Bella Vista, where they enjoyed their retirement years with wonderful friends and neighbors, traveling, and finding time to enjoy their hobbies and family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Kramer; daughter, Debbie McCarty; father, Don Geimeier; mother, Dorothy Geimeier; sister, Christine Cain; brother-in-law, Steve Cain; and nephew, Ryan Cain.

Joyce is survived by her son, Mike Kramer and his wife Julie; daughter, Nancy Dudeck and her husband David; sister, Donna Book and her husband Bruce; granddaugh­ters, Andrea Kramer and Emeline McCarty; grandsons, Jesse Haddock, Robert McCarty III and John James “JJ” Kramer; great-granddaugh­ter, Allie Dennis; and niece, Stephanie Cashion.

A celebratio­n of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at Bella Vista Baptist Church, 50 E. Lancashire Blvd., Bella Vista.
