Longmont public library eliminates fines for overdue items

LISA STEELE MUMMA >> We’ve hit rock bottom, zero accountability

MICHAEL STERTZ >> Breathe easy. And steal books. The taxpayers will just buy more.

MARY JO HIGHLAND >> The amount of people appalled by this is interesting considering other libraries have been doing this successfully for years!

KYLE SCHÜTZ >> Thank you to our wonderful library for making reading accessible to everyone. Y’all go above and beyond for us, and I’m so thankful to have access to this service.

ALEXIS TAYLOR-ROSS >> I see this being a problem. I get the purpose because I have been guilty of having overdue books. However, I had to become accountable and teach my son the same thing.

Longmont man charged with assault at Lanyon Park

HEIDI LUCARELLI >> I wonder if they are going to charge the “victim” for indecent exposure or public indecency.

KRISTEN WOMER >> Peeing outside is also illegal. Little girls should not have to see this.

JACOB GILLMAN >> That’s incredibly disrespectful. … Dude should not (have) been charged.

JEFFREY JUSTICE >> I walk my dog through these parks and surrounding areas, and I see this frequently, and much worse. The public bathrooms are locked. The city needs to install port-a-potties around town if they want this to stop. Would not be hard to be more discreet and not just do your business in full public view, but for some I guess that is just asking too much.

MICHELE TURNER CHRISTENSEN >> Even though this is gross, there is no justification for seriously assaulting someone for peeing in the park! Not a good example to set for your little girl.

JUDI ASHLEY >> Wow that no doubt causes more trauma for his daughter than the man peeing.

NICK PRESTON >> Could’ve just left, didn’t have the beat the hell out of the guy. You’ve never pee’d outdoors before? Not a great example to be setting in front of your child.

Longmont City Council pumps the brakes on possibly renaming offensive streets

J MARK SCHROEDER >> Woke waste of time.

JIM WESTER >> Apparently Sean Mccoy’s constituents are flippant for suggesting there are higher priorities?

JAMES HERRING >> I thought maybe they were going to change the name of Longmont to Prattmont. Or Walmont?

BRENDA WELSH KELLEY >> Stop changing things because you are offended. Your wokeness is showing.

THOMAS LAWSON >> No matter how hard MAGATS try, “woke” will never be a bad thing. They just use it (to) show their hate and to fundraise with their snowflake sheeple.

Driver sentenced to nine months work release for fatal Boulder crash

AMBER GOODWIN >> A vote for liberals is a vote for probation, community service or nothing. If you voted liberal, you have no right to complain. Enjoy your votes!

NICK IRISH-HOOLIGAN HARRELL >> But the driver of a semi got how many years?

JEFFREY JUSTICE >> The crash victims’ families made very good points. The Boulder County criminal justice system doesn’t appear to take drunk driving seriously or have a concern for crime victims and their families.

CARLA GRATKOWSKI >> Absolutely sickening the sentence she got for taking two lives away from their families! And the comment by the judge that in her 30 years she’s never seen such a remorseful defendant. Give me a break. She should have been given a stiffer sentence. Very very disrespectful to the families.

DONNA SUSAN >> Nine months? (Are you) kidding me? Takes two lives, injures a third? … This is just wrong.

LINDA GINGERY >> WTF is wrong with these judges handing out the lowest possible sentence to people who kill people with driving drunk and dealing deadly drugs?

Longmont man with outstanding warrant arrested for first-degree assault

TALLIS SALAMATIAN >> WTF, this is a serious problem with the DA and whoever is responsible for bail and sentencing

Woman arrested after bringing toy gun into Longmont building

JASON GRAY >> What was she charged with? The mere presence of a gun is not enough to warrant a search or arrest.

TRACEY WHIPPLE >> Yet Boebart can bring one in the U.S. Capitol. SMH.

ERIN FINKEN >> One, I can’t believe this is a story. Two, I can’t believe that this woman was arrested for having a fake gun. Colorado is (an) open carry state. You only need a permit to conceal carry. If they could see the gun it was clearly not concealed, so I’m not really sure what she was arrested for.

New pro-tenet Colorado bills want to limit fees, rent increases and evictions

KALLAHAMJARO JAVALES >> Government control always makes everything better.

Tee Cee’s Tip for Monday, Feb. 6, 2023

STEVEN SOUTH >> The people that write to Tee Cee are the same ones that buy Teslas thinking they’re environmentally woke. But jokes on them when they find out about raw material mining in Africa.

GREG MALLORY >> Nobody recycles plastic. It all goes to the same dump as the rest of the garbage.

Johnnie St. Vrain: Leaning tower of Longmont

TOM MORGAN >> I love these questions and answers so much. I moved here a few years ago and have learned so much about Longmont from these. Keep up the great work!

Loveland police announce arrest of 2 more juveniles connected to January shooting

THOMAS LAWSON >> We need a wall around Weld.

Teacher at Catholic school fired after Denver Archdiocese learned she was in same-sex relationship

TERESA MACPHAIL >> She signed a work agreement that states clearly what they expected. She broke the contract.
