Gun laws

• I really think the Legislature needs to start with the law that says people have a right to be safe in their own person. And that should include safe from gun violence, and maybe the legislation should say that specifically. But somehow they’ve got to put personal safety as number one in Colorado.

• This is about the gun laws. I agree with everything on there except for the age limit. You only have to be 17 … years old to go and fight for this country and die for this country and kill for this country. You should only have to be 17 … years old to have a beer or buy a gun. Now again, they shouldn’t be killing machines. Nobody should have those things unless they’re locked up at the gun range when you get there. But as far as having a pistol, a rifle or shotgun, yes, everyone should be able to have one of them. I’ve never felt the need for that in my life. I have no guns.

Mask lessons

(A column) in the New York Times: “The mask mandates did nothing. Will any lessons be learned?” We should be asking our politicians that question

Don’t say ‘yes’

I keep getting phone calls that ask me questions about my Medicare coverage. I believe it’s a scam call, hoping you will say yes at some point. And then they will use your recorded voice of “yes” in some nefarious way. Just be careful. The best thing is to hang up on them. But never say yes on a call if you don’t know who they are.

Locomotive engineer

As a locomotive engineer with 39years seniority for two major railroads — the Southern Pacific and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe — note: I am not a conductor. This a common media mistake. I am flabbergasted and insulted by the uneducated and really stupid amounts of misinformation, lies and damning comments by people who know nothing about what they’re reporting.

Adios

As this is my last week of subscribing to the TC, I just want to say how happy I will be not to listen to Trump backers and idiots saying Fox News is really news, and AP articles that always seem to leave the liberals in a bad light. Adios, you morons.

Pro-life?

Regarding gun regulations: Do Republicans understand that their stance against abortion, the killing of the unborn, makes no sense when they support unfettered access to guns, the most efficient killer of people? Are they pro-life or not?
