Ryan Michael Mccoy passed away on Febr uar y 17,2023 of natural causes. He was born on May 17th, 1968 in Longmont Colorado to

Mary and Thomas Mccoy. He attended school in Longmont and graduated from Longmont High School in 1987. He attended Mesa State College until he entered the U.S. Army in 1988. He was stationed in Germany and was part of the First Gulf War. He was honorably discharged as a 4th level Specialist of the 11th Black Horse Cavalry. After spending time traveling around Europe, he returned to Longmont where he lived until his death. He belonged to the American Legion where he had many lifelong friends and wonderful times. He had many hobbies including flying miniature airplanes with a local club, Frisbee Golf, camping in his VW bus and later camping in his boat on Horse-tooth Reservoir with friends. He volunteere­d for many years at the Highland Games every fall in Estes Park. He loved to spend time in the mountains especially at the Mccoy Family cabin. He fondly remembered his time as a young man working at Meeker Park Lodge where he worked with the horses and maintainin­g the facilities. Ryan was a life-long cat lover and had many cats over the years.

In his career he worked for various pharmaceut­ical companies in their shipping and receiving department­s. Including Array Biopharma, and Pfizer, and for the National Center for Atmospheri­c Research (NCAR). He attended school at St. Johns Catholic School and was a member of St. Johns Church. He is survived by his parents Tom and Mary Mccoy, sister Erin Miller and husband Greg, brother Sean Mccoy and wife Maureen, nieces Lauren Miller, Olivia Miller, Claire Pritchard, Mollie Mccoy and nephew Garrett Miller. A visitation at 6:00 pm and rosary 6:30 pm will be held at Howe Mortuary on Thursday March 2nd. A Celebratio­n of Life will be held later this spring in the mountains. In lieu of flowers, please donate to American Legion Post #32 or Longmont Friends of Feral and Abandoned Cats.
