CU basketball

I’m calling in regard to an article that you have in Wednesday’s Sports section of your paper, about the CU men’s basketball team. You folks have got to realize that the men’s basketball team is over. It’s been over for several days, yet you continue to waste ink and paper on that team. The women are still playing. They are obviously … the kings of CU basketball. Let the men go back into the distance and focus solely on the women for change, while they’re in the big dance.

No official religion

It is scientifically incorrect to state that life begins at conception. There is no evidence that supports this. That is an opinion, not a fact. A cluster of cells cannot survive on its own, eat, and get up and walk. It has not, as the Bible says, quickened. There is, however, a lot of made up misinformation like this that some choose to believe. They must not be teaching science or history very well. My family came to this country specifically to get away from other Christian churches who wanted everyone to worship as they do. We haven’t learned the lesson that there can be no official religion in this country, and are repeating it.

Free cone day

Thanks to Dairy Queen for free cone day. What an awesome way to celebrate the first day of spring. It was yummy.

High school shooting

• Wednesday morning, Denver, another high school shooting. Those of you that find excuses for doing anything about it, including reasonable gun safety, not funding mental health, not funding long term solutions such as early childhood education, finding things for kids to do during the summer and after school, you are part of the problem. Do you not have a moral compass?

• With the news of the shooting at Denver East High School (Wednesday), I sure hope the anti-police and the defund police people are happy now. DPS School Board voted to take the police out of DPS schools. This is the result.

Policy violation

The comment in (Tuesday’s) Times-call Line … about Donald Trump is in direct violation of the editor’s stated policy in the Times-call Line of Jan. 28 of this year. Editor’s note: The note on Jan. 28 said, “I place a priority on calls about local topics and about news stories that appear in the newspaper. I delete many of the calls regarding national politics, as they are very often repetitive, derogatory and accusatory.”
