With your newspaper, in the sports section, advertising and showing all the transfers coming in from all over the country to play football at CU because of football opportunity, is it possible to state in your article what these players hope to major in with their classes outside of football? Hopefully it’s not basket weaving.

TC Line call

The TC Line is the best entertainment I get every day. In Tuesday’s paper, there is a caller referring to the Monday article on A1 that left me scratching my head. It’s obvious the caller did not read the article. There’s nothing in there about voting machines or paper ballots.

Headline grammar

Five lashes with a wet noodle to the headline writer who wrote on Monday’s paper, page 1, “Less schools taking in vulnerable students.” We know that word less is only used for things that you cannot count. You can count schools, I believe, so you might want to use “Fewer schools taking in vulnerable students.” It’s even a little more painful that this is an article about education.

Paper ballots

On elections: That was very good in the paper. Voting may be best done with paper ballots. Get rid of the machines so we can have honest voting and honest elections and honest judges, and no crooks allowed.
