City projects

At the City Council meeting, it was discussed that several projects were behind schedule. Some projects, three years late, had an inflationary cost increase around 50%, or millions more. I guess the 33% increase in property taxes and city manager’s … raises are still in order. What is going on here, City Council members?

Mitch Mcconnell

This is about Mitch Mcconnell. Eugene Robinson should know the legislature has already set it up so the governor picks Mitch Mcconnell’s replacement when he retires, not the voters. … Understand how politics works, would you please?

Janie’s Cafe

This is thanks to the person who told me that Janie’s has the best biscuits and gravy in town. I will check her out again. Thanks.

City Council

I’d like to comment on the (top) story and Wednesday’s Times-call about the council asking Longmont residents to approve approximately $142.7million for a new rec center, an arts and entertainment center and a library. At least three to four times a week, there are comments in the TC Line about asking the council to stop the permits of apartment buildings going up around town, and yet they never respond to stopping the apartment permits. Yet they want us to approve their request for $142.7 million for these other three buildings. I think that we should turn their request down in November, just like they refuse to acknowledge our (pleas about) building permit for apartments in town. We don’t want apartments, and they don’t get their rec center, art center and library.

Climate change fanatics

We are seeing a cult following the climate change fanatics. While their ideals are noble, their antics are childish. I would have let that U.S. Open protester sit the rest of Coco’s match undisturbed with no one paying attention to him. Let’s not forget, humans will simply not outlive the Earth. Stop telling us the sky is falling. Besides, AOC says we are down to about 11years of Earth left. No more worries.
