Margaret

(Peggy) Louise Waugh ended her 100 year journey on November 30, 2023. She was born on October 30, 1923 in Pittsburg, KS.

Her parents were Mary Wilma Carnahan, a seamstress, and Harold Freeman Robins, a grocery store owner. She has one younger sister (98), Helen Lassman.

Peggy had a wonderful time growing up in Pittsburg. Her children got to hear about how wonderful it was to be with her neighborhood friends and all of the adventures they had. She met the love of her life in 1942. Robert (Bob) Waugh had become a 2nd lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. They were married May 5, 1943. Bob was stationed in England during WWII. Peggy stayed home in Pittsburg and they started their family.

Her daughters, Linda, (Bill) Calandrella, Carol Landenberger, Barbara (Jack) Boggess were all born in Pittsburg. Kathy (Scott) Bergren was born after they moved to Wichita, KS. This was the first of their moves for Bob's career. They went on to move 7 more times! Because Peggy had lost her mother to spinal meningitis at age 12, her biggest wish was to see her children grow up. Peggy and Bob worked as a team to raise their family and to make their homes beautiful places to live. Peggy had many talents. She was an amazing baker and cook. She sewed many clothes for her girls and items for her homes. She loved to garden and to make her home beautiful inside and out. Later in life, she learned how to make stained glass and made many pieces for gifts to others. She also worked at Leanin' Tree cards for 11 year.

She would do anything for her children. She supported her girls with all of their own children. Her grandchildren knew she'd always have a treat and a big hug waiting for them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a granddaughter, Tracie Lynn, a grandson, Isaac Jackson and 2 sons-in-law, Jack and Bill.

She did get her wish, she was the matriarch of our family with 4 girls, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. We can't imagine a world without her.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (cff.org) in honor of our cousin, Janet Lassman, who died from CF at age 36.
