Del MA rolls past ANC
Academy New Church dropped its fourth game in a row, losing 42-0 against Delaware Military Academy.
The Lions were down by 35 points before the end of the second quarter, putting the mercy rule into play and the clock ran from that point on. ANC simply can’t seem to get back into the win column.
“It was pretty disappointing,” ANC coach Ty Klippenstein said. “They are a really good team, we’ve been playing them for three years now and they’ve gotten better and better. They were a much better team, but we certainly could have played better.”
It wasn’t all bad for the Lions, but not putting the ball in the end zone and stopping the opposition from scoring was a big issue.
“We got a few yards on offense and made some plays on defense, but we couldn’t stop them and we couldn’t move the ball,” Klippenstein said. “The second half didn’t go much better. To be honest, nothing went right.”

“It’s tough, we’ve lost four straight games and it’s hard on everybody involved,” Klippenstein said. “I told the guys two weeks ago that they have to continue to work hard and not to give up. We just have to fiNG D ZDy WR JHW D ZLN.”
The losses weigh as heavily on the coaches as it does the players.
“Hopefully we can get a win in front of our home crowd,” Klippenstein said. “The players need to play better, but we as coaches also need to coach better. This has to happen if we are going to get results. Every time we lose I am dying to get to the next week to see if we can right the ship.”
