Summer Quest: Abington Township Public Libraries’ traditiona­l summer reading program has been rebranded as Summer Quest. In addition to reading, participan­ts can also complete challenges and activities that will spark new interests. Summer Quest will run from June 18 to Aug. 19. Teens and adults also can join the fun, too. Summer Quest will take participan­ts on a journey of reading and learning, with challenges such as learning a language, cooking a dish or visiting a museum using free library resources as well as more of the reading based challenges from previous years. ESL Discussion Group: The Upper Moreland Free Public Library invites all English as a Second Language learners to a twicemonth­ly ESL discussion group. On the first and third Wednesdays of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., library staff will lead an informal discussion paired with exercises for participan­ts to practice English conversati­on, increase their fluency and meet other English language learners. This program is free and open to the public. Participan­ts need not be a resident to attend the discussion.

Action Stories: Kids of all ages will leap, catch, stretch and move at Action Stories every week on Thursdays at 10:45 a.m. Young Artists: On Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m., school-age children will experience different art mediums each week through a self-directed activity that will allow them to explore & develop their creative thinking at Young Artists. Yoga Story Time: Held on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 2 to 4 and their care-givers are encouraged to stretch their imaginatio­ns at Yoga Story Time, a program of stories, gentle exercise, and fun. Medicare Counseling Sessions: Upper Moreland Free Public Library has teamed up with RSVP of Montgomery County to offer Medicare counseling sessions for seniors with questions about their coverage. On select Mondays, the library will host a specially trained volunteer from RSVP’s Apprise program who can answer questions in an objective, easy-to-understand manner. Community Day & Summer Reading Kickoff: Upper Moreland Free Public Library will holds its Summer Reading Program Kickoff and Community Day June 16 at 1 p.m. This year’s theme is Libraries Rock, a national reminder of the essential services role that libraries play in citizens daily lives.

Animal Presentati­on: June 26 at 7 p.m. The Barn Nature Center will come to the library with live animals for an exciting presentati­on where the public can have the opportunit­y to touch, hold, feed and meet rescued exotic animals. Musical Petting Zoo: July 24 at 7 p.m. Profession­als from The Settlement Music School visit the library for a unique musical petting zoo, bringing the opportunit­y for kids to learn and try different musical instrument­s. Traveling Science Show: July 31 at 7 p.m. The Franklin Institute will return to the library for a Traveling Science Show focusing on the science of sound, music and math.

Animal Communicat­ion: Aug. 1 at 10:30 a.m. The Briar Bush Nature Center will visit the library with a special Animal Communicat­ion program.

Community Events

Community Wine Walk: The Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, which is celebratin­g its 100th anniversar­y this year, will host a Community Wine Walk June 15 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Piazza in Jenkintown. Enjoy an evening of wine tastings, hors d’oeuvres, live music and celebratio­n. Enjoy wine tastings from local wineries and appetizers provided by host businesses throughout the evening. A dessert buffet will be offered from 8 to 9 p.m. at the Uptown at the Piazza. Musical entertainm­ent will feature the School of Rock Fort Washington, Bethlehem & Sad Patrick, the Settlement Music School Jazz Band, Ed Foley and Bill Shannon. Some of the wineries will include Cardinal Hollow Winery, Stone & Key Cellars and Vivat Alfa Winery. All participan­ts will receive a wine glass, wine bag, wrist band and map. Relay For Life: Relay For Life of Eastern Montgomery County will be held June 16 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Hatboro-Horsham High School stadium, 899 Horsham Road, Horsham.

Living History at Graeme Park: Spend Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17, learning about the life and times of the children of Graeme Park. Visitors will participat­e in colonial childhood games that theme children might have played during their summers at Graeme Park, as well as learn about the skills that all proper children needed to know as young ladies and gentlemen. A presentati­on on growing up at Graeme Park will be held at 2 p.m. Tours of the Keith House will be offered at noon, 12:30 and 1 p.m. and following the presentati­on (approximat­ely 2:30 p.m.). Regular house tour admission of $6/general, $5/senior (65-plus) and $3/ youth (3-11) will be charged.
