Gregory James Smyser of Sch­wenksville

Gregory James Smyser, age 48, of Sch­wenksville, passed away on Oc­to­ber 5, 2018 after a long battle with de­pres­sion.

Born April 6, 1970 in Abing­ton Penn­syl­va­nia, he was the son of Clarence Michael and Kathy Lane Smyser.

Greg at­tended Soud­er­ton High School. He worked many years as a self-em­ployed house painter. He was also a tal­ented artist and drum­mer. Greg was an avid an­i­mal lover and en­joyed spend­ing time in na­ture with his beloved dog, Wil­low. He was known for his com­pas­sion­ate heart and had a great sense of hu­mor with a gift for telling funny sto­ries. The light of his life was his five year old daugh­ter, Ju­niper.

In ad­di­tion to his par­ents and daugh­ter he is sur­vived by his sib­lings Lisa Moyer and her hus­band Rod, Peter Smyser and his wife Deanne, and his nephew Nathan Moyer.

A Cel­e­bra­tion of Life will be sched­uled at a later date. In­ter­ment will be pri­vate.

A me­mo­rial fund has been cre­ated in Greg’s mem­ory to ben­e­fit his daugh­ter.
