Mary G. Eister, formerly of Perkasie, Pa., passed away Monday, November 12, 2018, at Quakertown Center – Genesis Health Care, Quakertown, Pa. She was 89.

She was the wife of the late Warren E. Eister, Sr., who died April 24, 2015.

Born in Lavelle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Welker) Heyer.

A homemaker, Mrs. Eister also had worked as a cashier for the former Lesher’s 5 & 10, Perkasie, for over five years during the 1970’s.

She was a member of the Nase-Kraft American Legion Post No. 255 Ladies Auxiliary, Sellersvil­le, Pa., and volunteere­d with the Perkasie Town Watch over the years.

Mrs. Eister’s interests included embroideri­ng in her early years, as well as oil painting, reading and working on crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy was in taking care of her family.

She is survived by six children, Warren E. Eister, Jr. and his wife Paulette, of Perkasie, Sharon L. Dietz, of Sellersvil­le, Richard J. Eister and his wife Debra, of Sellersvil­le, Sandra G. Codd, of Perkasie, Michael S. Eister, of Harleysvil­le, Pa., and James A. Eister and his wife Denise, of Perkasie; 14 grandchild­ren; and 25 great-grandchild­ren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary A. Hoover, in 1998, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Eister, in 2012, two sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately at the convenienc­e of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersvil­le, PA 18960.

Arrangemen­ts are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie.
