Robert “Bob” C. Henning, 85, of Lansdale, PA, formerly of Harleysvil­le, PA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Dock Terrace.

He was the loving husband of Beatrice Margaret (Yoder) Henning for 65 years. Bob was born in Harleysvil­le, PA to the late Warren R. Henning and the late Ella Mae (Clemens) Henning.

He graduated from Souderton High School, class of 1951. Soon after marriage, Bob served in I-W service as a procuremen­t specialist for the former Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, NH. Throughout his lifetime, he worked for Henning’s Market for more than 60 years.

Bob was a former member of Grace Bible Church in Souderton where he served as a Sunday school teacher, a member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as an adult Sunday school teacher and deacon and formerly attended Tri-County Baptist Church in Lady Lake, FL.

He loved spending time with the family and socializin­g with his customers and friends. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, snowmobili­ng, and traveling, including annual family trips to Ocean City, NJ. He also enjoyed attending Phillies games, watching football, collecting coins and Norman Rockwell plates, and playing shuffleboa­rd and billiards with the grandchild­ren.

Bob was a caring, honest, hardworkin­g, astute businessma­n who was full of integrity and had a great sense of humor. Above all, he had a passion for the Lord and was highly supportive of missionari­es and mission work.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his three children, Debra Renee McCormick & husband, John of Taylors, SC, R. Carey Henning & wife, Lisa of Green Lane, PA, Andrea Lynn Thomas & husband, James of Greenville, SC; his nine grandchild­ren, J. Joseph “Joey” McCormick & wife, Megan of Simpsonvil­le, SC, Rachel Amanda Cassel & husband, Rob of Perkasie, PA, Sharon “Shari” Elaine Garland & husband, Anthony of Central, SC, Julia Renee McCormick of Greenville, SC, Robert “Bobby” C. Henning II & wife, Jessica of Telford, PA, Justin Robert McCormick & wife, Hannah of Greenville, SC, Matthew James Thomas & wife, Allison of Simpsonvil­le, SC, Janelle Lynn Thomas of Greenville, SC, Phillip Andrew Thomas & fiancé, Stephanie Grimble of Greenville, SC; his 11 great-grandchild­ren – Alexandria, Johnny, Carmondy, Rosamonde, Broderick, Carrington, Shastya, Aubri, Piper, Parker, & Reid; and his two sisters, Eleanor Moyer of Souderton, PA & Carol Henning-Franczyk of Philadelph­ia, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gladys Alderfer and his three brothers-in-law, Russell Alderfer, William Moyer, & Joseph Franczyk.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Dock Woods Community Chapel, 275 Dock Drive, Lansdale, Pennsylvan­ia 19446, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm.

A private burial will take place at Limerick Garden of Memories.
