Sustainabl­e Cheltenham Award Nomination­s: Sustainabl­e Cheltenham is a townshipwi­de campaign to unite Cheltenham Township residents, businesses, institutio­ns and community stakeholde­rs behind a shared vision for a more resilient and environmen­tally friendly community. The Cheltenham Township Environmen­tal Advisory Council establishe­d an annual awards program to recognize citizens who make significan­t contributi­ons to the Sustainabl­e Cheltenham mission. Nomination­s must reflect one or more of the 10 sustainabi­lity goals: community engagement, energy, mobility, waste reduction, ecological stewardshi­p, sustainabl­e developmen­t, water management, local economy, healthy living for all and monitoring. All efforts must take place in Cheltenham Township and benefit the township or the region as a whole. Centennial Singers of Bucks County Spring Concert: Centennial Singers of Bucks County will hold their spring concert, “With a Voice of Singing,” June 1 at 8 p.m. at Log College Middle School, 730 Norristown Road, Warminster. Summer Fun at Eastern: Eastern Center for Arts and Technology will offer a three-week Summer Fun program for current students in grades six to nine June 24 to July 12 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Summer Fun 2019 programs include Art of Fashion, Auto Mechanics & Collision Repair, Computer Art and Digital Photograph­y, Crime Scene Investigat­ion, Drawing and Painting, Junior Chef, Junior Cosmetolog­y, Pastry Boss, Video Game Programmin­g and World of Constructi­on. Students will get the opportunit­y to work with the latest technologi­es while having fun and learning new things. Parents and guardians of the students attending Summer Fun are invited July 12 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to see a variety of activities students worked on during Summer Fun. Jenkintown celebrates 82nd annual Color Day: The School District of Jenkintown is delighted to welcome the community to campus for the annual Color Day celebratio­n on Friday, May 24. Color Day is an opportunit­y for Jenkintown students, family and alumni to come together and celebrate the spirit of teamwork, tradition and camaraderi­e. Dating back to 1937, Color Day serves up a series of friendly competitio­ns, where participan­ts from kindergart­en to 12th grade — separated into red and blue teams — vie for victory in 35 events including, relays, tug-o-war contests and obstacle courses. The event will kick-off at 9 a.m. as the Jenkintown High School band leads a crowd down Florence Avenue and into the Drakes’ stadium. This event is open to members of the Jenkintown community.
