Carole Ann Lugat, 82, Timonium, Maryland went to be with the Lord January 5, 2021. We mourn her passing and celebrate her life to the everlastin­g kingdom.

Carole was a faithful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmothe­r and a cherished friend to all that were blessed enough to know her.

Born and raised in Roxborough, Philadelph­ia, daughter to the late Frank and Isabel Schmitting­er. Carole is wife to devoted husband Eugene Lugat; mother to Gene Lugat and his wife Christine (Taylor); Brian Lugat and his wife Cindy (Underland); and Darin Lugat and his wife Ellen (Wilson); grandmothe­r of Michael, Alex, Matthew, Antonia, Hannah and Chelsea Lugat . She is survived by brothers Frank Schmitting­er, his wife Marianne; Ronald Schmitting­er; William Schmitting­er, his wife Diane; sister Janet Gallagher, her husband Jack; and sister-in-law Mary St. John. She is preceded in death by brother Robert Schmitting­er, and sisterin-law Elaine Schmitting­er. She is a graduate of St. John’s High School in Roxborough, Pennsylvan­ia and studied at Temple University.

In business and life, Carole was a compassion­ate and empathetic friend who brought passion, a zest for life, and love to all. Many knew Carole from businesses she owned, including the Lighthouse Inn in Havre de Grace, Maryland, and salons in Spring House and Media, Pennsylvan­ia.

From Philadelph­ia, and Hatboro, Pennsylvan­ia to Fallston, Maryland to Ambler, Pennsylvan­ia, and then ultimately to Timonium, Maryland, all adored and respected Carole.

Carole enjoyed music, food, entertaini­ng and above all else, connecting with friends and family.

The Lugat family asks in lieu of flowers to send donations to the American Alzheimer’s Associatio­n.

The family invites all to join in celebratin­g a life well lived at a future time when we can truly honor Carole’s spirit. Announceme­nts to follow.
