Montgomery County’s top elected officials authorized a series of contracts recently totaling more than $4 million.

Nearly 20 contracts were presented to the county commissioners. Of note, a $1,185,000 contract was renewed during the Jan. 20 meeting.

The agreement between Montgomery County’s District Attorney and Coroner’s offices and National Medical Services, of Willow Grove, covered “drug testing and toxicology services.”

The latest renewal would be the “second available of three optional one-year renewals for the 2022 term,” the contract specified.

A $700,000 one-year agreement between the Montgomery County Department of Assets and Infrastructure was divided among four Pennsylvaniabased companies covering “equipment and rental services.”

Participating recipients include T & T Contracting, Inc., of Fairview Village, Floyd G. Hersh Inc., of Green Lane, Flyway Excavating Information, of Mount Joy, and Strouse Landscaping Inc., of Schwenksville, according to the contract.

Four companies responded to a request for proposals that was advertised online, according to the contract. It received views from 23 firms. The contract stipulates an additional one-year extension.

It’s unclear what types of equipment rentals will be used.

Additionally, a roughly $503,153 agreement with Intergraph Corporation, of Huntsville, Alabama, included continued maintenance services for the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety’s “computer aided dispatch system” within the 911 center.

The contract would take effect on April 2 and would last through March 31, 2023.

The county previously engaged with the Alabama-based company “to provide proprietary hardware and software maintenance to facilitate the functions of the 9-1-1 Communications Center by the Department of Public Safety,” the contract states.

In other business, approximately $820,708 worth of contracts were authorized in relation to the county’s assets and infrastructure department’s construction projects. Of note, a $466,488 threeyear agreement with Sungard Availability Services LP, of Wayne, was reached to relocate a data center for the Montgomery County Information and Technology Solutions department.

An online request for proposals was advertised related to this project. There were views from 30 companies, but four submitted bids, according to the contract.

The next Montgomery County Board of Commissioners meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Feb. 3 on the eighth floor of One Montgomery Plaza, located at 425 Swede St., in Norristown. Those interested in attending the meeting can also do so virtually. For more information, visit montcopa.org.
