Jean Anne Shipman

-

Jean Anne Shipman, 83, of Ambler, PA, died on March 25, 2022. She was born in Ridley Park, PA, on December 22, 1938, to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Porter) Coffey. Jean was the loving wife of Herman C. Shipman, to whom she was happily married for nearly five decades. She was a devoted mother who deeply loved, and was proud of her three children, Scott, Mark and Christina. A lifelong lover of animals, Jean’s household always had at least one cat. She supported a variety of animal shelters and instilled a passion for pets in her children. She was particularly proud of her commitment to excellence, whether that was applied to high school academics or creating two careers, one as a secretary and another as a membership consultant at her local YMCA. Jean loved making new recipes to delight family and friends and had a flair for fashion, which she used to create her own unique style throughout the years. She was always up for good party or participating in various social groups, both of which gave her the opportunity to make lasting friendships. Perhaps what she will most be remembered for was her genuine enjoyment in being in the company of others. Jean always expressed an interest in what was happening in people’s lives, was generous with compliments, and offered a listening ear in good times and bad. Her smile was unforgettable. Along with her husband, Herman, she is survived by her children Scott Bradbury (Leslie), Mark Bradbury, Christina Shipman, her grandchildren Alexander, Joseph, and Alaina Bradbury, and her sister Bunny Fertig. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10:30AM at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. The viewing will be from 9:00-10:30AM. Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Park.
