Women’s lacrosse

Elon’s Kaley Ehnow (Abington) notched two goals in Wednesday’s 17-12 win over William & Mary.

Paige Gilbert (CB West) had a goal for W&M in the loss.

Max Leszczynsk­i (Plymouth Whitemarsh) picked up two goals, a ground ball and six draw controls for Duquesne in Sunday’s 1310 loss to VCU. The freshman now has 10 goals on the season.

St Joseph’s Sophia Kolkka (Plymouth Whitemarsh) tallied two goals and eight draw controls as the Hawks fell to ranked Richmond 21-8 on Sunday. Lindsey Smith (Springfiel­d Twp) had two ground balls.

In Friday’s 12-9 win over Davidson, Kolkka had an assist, four ground balls, two caused turnovers and four draw controls.

Sam McGee (Abington) scored two goals and won four draw controls as Colorado defeated California 9-5 on Sunday. In Friday’s 16-9 loss to Stanford, the fifth-year senior had a goal for the Buffaloes.

Men’s lacrosse

Despite a lopsided 22-6 loss to Notre Dame on Saturday, Syracuse faceoff specialist Jakob Phaup (Souderton) had a solid effort going 20-of-31 on the X and scooping up nine ground balls.

Jacksonvil­le edged High Point in a 14-13 thriller on Saturday. Ethan LaMond (La Salle) led the Dolphins with five goals and Jackson Intrieri (Wissahicko­n) had two goals and an assist to power Jacksonvil­le.

Softball

Coastal Carolina freshman Mady Volpe (North Penn) spun six scoreless innings of relief in Sunday’s 3-0 loss to Southern Alabama. The right-hander struck out five batters against two walks in the effort.

Kayla Tauber (Hatboro-Horsham) went 6-for-12 in the Hawks’ weekend sweep of St. Bonaventur­e with identical 2-for-4 outings in all three games. In Saturday’s 9-1 win to start a doublehead­er, Tauber scored twice and drove in four runs including a two-run double.

In Saturday afternoon’s 5-1 run, Tauber also scored twice and she touched home once in Sunday’s 10-1 series finale. The freshman infielder is batting .293 in 27 starts and has scored 20 runs.

Kutztown’s Bean Hughes (Upper Moreland) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and scored twice in Saturday’s 6-3 loss to East Stroudsbur­g. Hannah Reimel (William Tennent) went 1-for-3 in the setback.

The Golden Bears swept a doublehead­er with Jefferson on Wednesday. In the 15-2 Game 1 win, Hughes went 1-for-3 with a solo home run then went 1-for-2 with a run scored in the 8-0 Game 2 win while Reimel was 1-for-3

with an RBI.

Bloomsburg opened its home schedule with a doublehead­er sweep of PittJohnst­own on Saturday. Nicolette Ray (Abington) led the Huskies offense, going 1-for-2 with a two-run double in the 4-1 Game 1 win, then followed up with a 2-for-3 effort in the 10-2 Game 2 win including an RBI single and a two-run base hit.

St Francis (PA) infielder Jordan Pietrzykos­ki (North Penn) is batting .339 in 29 games, all starts, this season. The junior has 32 hits, 10 RBI and has scored 18 runs for the Red Flash.

Baseball

St. Joe’s catcher Andrew Cossetti (La Salle) went 2-for-4 with a home run in the Hawks 13-12 loss to UMass in the first game of a doublehead­er on Saturday.

Conlan Wall (Souderton) was 3-for-6 with two RBI for the Hawks in Saturday’s 16-3 win.

Binghamton bashed Albany 7-1 on Sunday powered by a 3-for-5 efforts from Evin Sullivan (North Penn) and Kevin Reilly (Plymouth Whitemarsh). Sullivan scored three runs and drove in a pair while Reilly lashed an RBI double that plated Sullivan.

Sullivan also went 2-for-2 with a run scored in a 7-3 loss Saturday.

West Chester started its week with a 5-4 win over Wilmington on Tuesday led by a 1-for-4 effort and RBI from Corey Stouffer (North Penn). Mike Ferrara (Archbishop Wood) was 1-for-3 with an RBI while Justin Horn (Upper Dulbin) also drove in a run.

The Golden Rams split a Saturday doublehead­er with Bloomsburg. In the 8-3 Game 1 win, JR Gifford (Wood) launched a tworun home run, Stouffer had a two-run double, Ferrara doubled in a run and Horn went 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Ferrara was 3-for-4 with an RBI double that scored Horn but West Chester lost Game 2 13-1.

Chestnut Hill’s John Contoudis (Jenkintown) went 2-for-4 with two RBI in Sunday’s 15-9 loss to Goldey Beacom while Nate O’Donnell (North Penn) went 3-for-3 with two runs scored.

Contoudis was 1-for-4 with a run scored in Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Goldey Beacom.

Virginia’s Alex Tappen (Wissahicko­n) was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI in the Cavaliers’ 6-4 loss to Georgia Tech on Friday.

The graduate student came back with a 3-for-5 day including a triple and three RBI as UVA topped GT 13-9 on Saturday and finished the weekend with a 1-for-5 game including a double and two RBI in Sunday’s 18-9 win.

Tappen is hitting .358 in 28 games and is second on the team with 43 RBI.

Chris McLean (North Penn) was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI as Jefferson won a 19-11 slugfest with Kutztown on Tuesday.

Gavin Moretski (La Salle) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for Kutztown in Tuesday’s loss.

Dominic Proietto (Norristown) threw a complete game win in Saturday’s 5-4 win over Shepherd, allowing just one earned run in seven innings of work with seven strikeouts.

Moretski was 2-for-5 with a run scored and RBI while Antonio Rossillo (Archbishop Wood) was 1-for-4 with a run in a 7-6 loss to cap Saturday’s doublehead­er.
