Children share music for children in Ukraine

Music Academy holds concert to benefit Voices of Children Foundation

AMBLER » Children joined together for a concert to raise money for Ukranian children affected by war.

On Thursday, April 7, students at Ambler Music Academy came together for a concert, “Music for Children by Children.” The concert of 30 children raised money for the Voices of Children Foundation, an organization which provides therapies to children impacted by war in Ukraine.

The candlelit concert was full of students donned in sunflowers to support Ukraine. Two children even wore traditional Ukrainian attire to share with the AMA community. The recital started with piano faculty member, Samuel Heifetz, playing a concert version of the Ukrainian anthem. Following was child after child playing music in honor of children across the world impacted by war.

“The children at Ambler Music Academy were eager to share their gifts and help Ukrainian children,” said Andrew Hoy, director of Ambler Music Academy. “It was heartwarming to see so many students taking part directly to help others.”

Students ranged from four years old through adult and performed a wide variety of music, from classical

to contemporary duets, on various instruments: piano, violin, viola, and guitar. “Seeing people of so many ages, abilities, and interests come together was a reminder of the wonderful, generous community we have,” said Hoy.

“Seeing children’s excitement and eagerness to help is inspiring,” Hoy reflected.

“It fills us with hope for the future.”

Voices of Children Foundation has been helping children affected by the war since 2015. They provide psychological and psychosocial support to children. During the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, they are providing nonstop assistance to affected children and families from all over the country, providing emergency psychological assistance, and assisting in the evacuation process. https://voices.org. ua/en/
