Arts Festival returns to Glenside

The Downtown Glenside Foundation has announced details about artists, activities, entertainm­ent, food, and drinks for the 2022 Downtown Glenside Arts Festival happening on Saturday, April 23, featuring artists and crafters, live music, dancers, the Shops of Glenside, family activities, food, wine, and beer.

The Downtown Glenside Arts Festival is sponsored by the Downtown Glenside Foundation and supported by the generosity of Cheltenham Township and Arcadia University with the entertainm­ent sponsored by Goodman Properties and Primex Garden Center. The Arts Festival is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday,

April 23 on South Easton Road between Waverly Road and Glenside Avenue near the Glenside SEPTA Train Station.

Foundation dedicates this year’s Arts Festival to the memory of Joe and Colleen Coll, long-time owners of the Glenside Pub, and

Marilou Cassidy, founder of Cassidy Dance Studios,” said Maureen Haff, president of the Downtown Glenside Foundation. “Downtown Glenside misses Cassidy

and the Colls and will forever be grateful for their volunteer work and all the contributi­ons to our community.”

This year’s festival features more than 70 regional and local artists and crafters selling a variety of unique items. The festival also features local

artists: New and Wesley Images, Sue’s Scents, Flamingo Shores, and Redirected Wood Company.

The family-friendly festival offers a variety of activities including a Make & Take craft activity, a Qigong demonstrat­ion and the Cheltenham High School acapella groups, along with other entertainm­ent, including Arcadia Dancers, Cassidy Dancers, Cedarbrook Middle School Musical, Cheltenham High School drumline, Fencing Academy of Philadelph­ia demonstrat­ions, and others.

Some of the Shops of Glenside will offer sidewalk sales, and there will be an Outdoor Vintage Market. A variety of food and beverages from restaurant­s will be available for seated dining and takeout. Wine, beer, and cocktails will be available in select locations.
