Ehly, Abington break through against Colonials

ABINGTON 9, PW 3 » Anthony Ehly struck out 13 in a complete-game effort while Abington broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the top of the fifth then added six more in the sixth to earn the SOL Liberty Division win.

Luke Sydlowski and Jake Kaplan both had two RBIs while Chase Goodson, John Dzielawa and Brian Murtha each scored two runs for the Galloping Ghosts (2-2, 1-2 division). Ehly allowed three runs – all earned – on six hits and did not give up a walk.

Joe Redmond went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Plymouth Whitemarsh (3-3, 0-3), which has lost three straight. PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 9, WISSAHICKO­N 1 » Alex WilkieVisc­io threw a complete game and knocked in two runs in the Colonials SOL Liberty win Wednesday.

Wilkie-Viscio allowed one run and struck out four batters to no walks in a 74-pitch effort.

Luke Gartland and Jesse Jaconski each added two RBI for PW.

ARCHBISHOP WOOD 8, ST.JOSEPH’S PREP 3 » Archbishop Wood’s Patrick McKinney was 2-for-3 with a double, home run, three RBIs and two runs scored as the Vikings used a four-run bottom of the sixth to hold off visiting St. Joseph’s Prep.

Michael Trommer was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and also pitched six innings to earn the win for Wood (61, 4-0 PCL), giving up three runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out 10.

Aiden Myers went 2-for-4 with a run, Sean Slowinski hit a two-RBI double in the third and Joey Gale scored two runs.

McKinney hit a solo homer in the first with the Vikings taking a 4-0 lead with three runs in the fifth. NEUMANN-GORETTI 6, LA SALLE 1 » Neumann-Goretti jumped to an early lead with three runs in the top of the first while La Salle was held scoreless until the sixth as the Explorers fell in the PCL contest.

Tahir Parker was 2-for-3 with an RBI for La Salle (3-4, 1-2 league).

Sal Laimo went 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Saints (3-0 PCL). Joey Brasky had two RBIs while Yariel Rodriguez scored twice.

LA SALLE 14, ARCHBISHOP RYAN 0 (5) » Jephson HadsonTayl­or and Brian Baquero both collected three hits as visiting La Salle scored four runs in the first, second and fourth innings in rolling to a five-inning PCL win.

Hadson-Taylor was 3-for-3 with an RBI and scored three runs while Baquero went 3-for-3 with a double, RBI and scored twice as the Explorers (3-3, 1-1 league) ended a threegame skid.

Kevin Kell finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs and also pitched the first three innings for the Explorers, allowing two hits and a walk and striking out five. Matt Gannon went 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Nathan Kress and Jacob Overton had three and two RBIs, respective­ly, while Jaylen Ivey had two runs scored.

Softball WISSAHICKO­N 2, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 0 »

Danielle Ciliberto threw a complete game, four-hit shutout to lead the Trojans to an SOL Liberty win Wednesday.

Over seven innings Ciliberto stuck out 10 batters to no walks.

Molly Moore threw a complete game for PW, striking out eight batters to two walks. She allowed two runs, both unearned, on five hits.

ARCHBISHOP WOOD 7, GWYNEDD MERCY ACADEMY 2 » Dakota Fanelli struck out nine batters in a complete game win for the Vikings Wednesday. She allowed two earned runs on seven hits.

Parker Kraus hit a home run while Abby Windish went 4-for-5 and Maura Yoos went 3-for-5.

QUAKERTOWN 5, ABINGTON 1 » Abington’s Natalie Broskley was 2-for-3 and drove in the Galloping Ghosts’ lone run of the SOL Liberty contest with an RBI single in the sixth.

Quakertown (4-0, 3-0 division) scored the game’s first five runs, the Panthers plated a run in the first, two in the third and one in the fourth. Abington (2-3, 1-3) has lost its last three. HATBORO-HORSHAM 6, PW 3 » The Hatters (2-3, 2-1) scored two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings and pulled away for the SOL Liberty win on Tuesday. Megan Mills, Abby Waeltz and Tess Kearney each collected mutliple hits with Mills leading the way with three hits. Lauryn Kane and Sam Skivol had multiple hits for the Colonials (1-3, 1-2) with two each. Alyssa Tooley earned the win for the Hatters, allowing seven hits and three runs over six innings, striking out seven. MOUNT ST. JOE’S 6, UPPER DUBLIN 3 » The Mount (2-4) broke the game open with five runs in the fifth inning and picked up the nonconfere­nce win on Tuesday. Emily Vinapl picked up the win with four innings of work, striking out five and allowing three hits and one run. Vinal added two doubles and an RBI. Charlotte Gale closed the game with three innings of relief, scattering six hits and two earned runs. Madden Reilly and Lizzie Tambourino each had two hits for Upper Dublin (1-5). AND PRENDERGAS­T 0 » Dakota Fanelli twirled a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts as the Vikings picked up the PCL win on Tuesday. Maura Yoos went 3-for-3 with a tworun triple, while Paige Ross doubled and drove in three runs. Also having multiple hits were Fanelli and Kiersten Reeser. Abby Windish added two RBIs, while Biz James scored twice.

PW 6, ABINGTON 1 » The Colonials (1-1) broke the game open with a three-run sixth inning on Monday in SOL Liberty action. Lauren Kane and Molly Moore contribute­d with RBIs. Moore picked up the win in the circle, allowing three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. PW finished with 11 hits in all with Kane, Sam Skivo, Julie Price, Grace Carney and Moore all managing multiple hits.

UPPER DUBLIN 17, CAPE HENRY 6 » Aditi Foster scored seven goals to lead the Cardinals to a win in Virginia Beach Wednesday.

Tess Reardon and Paige Dinkel each added three goals for Upper Dublin.

PW 10, SPRINGFIEL­D TWP. 7 » After falling behind 3-0, it was all Colonials (3-1, 2-0) in a SOL American affair on Monday. Brianna Austin led PW with four goals, while Bri Reynolds also scored two goals. Also scoring for PW were Meghan Wendler, Gigi Tonje, Olivia Reilly and Rhianna Gooneratne. PW’s low defenders stood out with Lonna Buono, Ella Clark, Kaylin Smith and Katie Lukens leading the charge.

OWEN J. ROBERTS 18, GWYNEDD MERCY ACADEMY 2 » OJR stayed undefeated with an 18-2 road victory over GMA on Monday. OJR was led by Gracyn Smith (3G, 4A), Alexa Vogelman (4G, 2A), Gabbi Koury (4G, 2A, 10DCs), Quinn Defibaugh (first career hat trick), and Colby Wasson (2GBs, 3CTs).

MOUNT ST. JOE’S 16, HAVERFORD 7 » The Mount (5-1) won big again in nonconfere­nce action on Monday. Kate Donovan and Devin Loome each scored three goals to lead the attack for The Magic. Scoring two goals were Campbell Donovan, Lauren Maher, Amelia Clair and Maggie Reza. Annie Shields was strong with seven saves in net for Mount St. Joe’s. CATHOLIC (VA.) 24, UPPER DUBLIN 13 » Aditi Foster led Upper Dublin with five goals and three assists as the Cardinals were handed a loss on their Spring Break trip to Virginia Beach.

Paige Dinkel, Julie Zlotnikoff, Tess Reardon and Anna DiMartile all scored two goals for UD (4-3, 2-1 SOL American), who trailed 14-7 at halftime. Dinkel had two assists and two draw controls while DiMartile collected six draw controls and two caused turnovers.

QUAKERTOWN 4, HATBOROHOR­SHAM 3 » The Hatters put up a good fight before dropping the SOL Liberty match on Tuesday. Nicholas Chan picked up a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles to keep HatboroHor­sham within reach.

CB SOUTH 7, ABINGTON 0 » South only dropped one set en route to the victory on Tuesday. Abington’s Brendan Mo continues to impress and had the days’ best match, falling 6-2, 1-6 6-3 at No. 3 singles to Alex Dash.

LA SALLE 12, ST. JOE’S PREP 2 » Andrew Kelly scored two goals and added three assists in the Explorers won over their PCL rival Wednesday afternoon.

Charlie Huntley, Jack Pilling, Paul Van Blasteelar and Frank Fix each added two goals while Matt Nelson made four saves in goal.

Stevie Davis won 10-of-14 faceoffs for La Salle. ARCHBISHOP WOOD 22, CARDINAL O’HARA 7 » The Vikings picked up their first win of the season with a comfortabl­e victory over PCL rival O’Hara.

PLYMOUTH WHITMARSH 12, QUAKERTOWN 5 » Junior midfielder Justin Bainbridge led the Colonials offensive attack with five goals and three assists, while also going 10 for 14 on faceoffs to help the Colonials secure an SOL Liberty win over Quakertown on Tuesday night. Senior CJ Petrakis added four goals to the team’s total, while adding 3 assists. Rounding out the scoring were two goals from senior attack Luke Wendler, who also had 2 assists, and a goal from junior midfielder Jared Kolsun. Freshman LSM Isaiah Bainbridge had 2 assists and led the defense by dominating transition­s and clears, as well as causing multiple turnovers. Senior defenseman Keith Gallagher and freshman defenseman Dylan Imperial also played excellent games on the defensive end and goalie Nate Mascio turned in a solid performanc­e, notching nine saves.
