Obituaries Marilyn Markette Carlson
Marilyn Markette Carlson, of Ambler, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 2 at Spring House Estates in Ambler, PA.
Marilyn was born on September 18, 1946 in Derby, CT. Mrs. Carlson was a graduate of Shelton High School in Shelton, CT and an alumna of Southern Connecticut State University. Marilyn had a love for
books even as a child, and began working in the local library as a teen. She worked in various positions in Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She retired from her career as the Library Director at Huntingdon Valley Library in 1996.
She and her beloved husband John loved living in Ambler – they enjoyed their home, their neighbors, dogs and many celebrations hosted by Ambler. They
always opened their home to all, including their adult children and seven grandchildren.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, John S. Carlson in 2014; her parents, John and Jennie Markette; brother, John Markette; and nephew, Shane Markette. She is the dear sister of Janet Markette Hamrick, the loving Aunt of two nephews, Paul and Jasen, cousin of Debra and dearest friend of Jo; who will keep her generous spirit and love for all. She is also survived by John’s sons; Mark W. Carlson, Scott A. Carlson (Kathleen), Eric J. Carlson D.O. (Joanna), and seven grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA 19002, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in George
