BURGLARY » A warrant is being obtained for a male who showed up at 11:30 a.m. May 12 at a home in the 1600 block of Prospect Avenue, Willow Grove, where the resident has a PFA against him and where he broke several things and stole a keyboard, police said. When responding officers attempted to stop the male in his vehicle, he fled, police said.

THEFT » A customer at Acme, 323 Old York Road, Jenkintown, reported at 1:26 p.m. May 12 her wallet and cellphone were taken from her purse, police said. The victim immediatel­y cancelled credit cards and later an attempt was made to purchase $1,700 in goods on her credit card at Home Depot in Cheltenham, police said.

FRAUD » A resident reported May 13 a check for $400 mailed from the Abington Post Office several weeks prior was cashed in Virginia for $7,000, police said.

RETAIL THEFT »Two males stole about $1,000 worth of clothing from Ross Dress for Less, 911 Old York Road, Jenkintown, at 12:38 p.m. May 13, police said. FRAUD » A male who attempted to cash a fraudulent check at TD Bank, 2900 Moreland Road, was stopped in a vehicle near the bank by officers at 6:57 p.m. May 13 and the occupants of the vehicle, who allegedly attempted to do the same at several area banks, were taken into custody, police said.

THEFT » A customer at Iron Hill Brewery, 785 Huntingdon Pike, reported while in the restaurant May 13 a couple seated on either side of her were arguing and shortly after she was notified of numerous charges on her credit card and found her wallet was missing from her purse, police said. RETAIL THEFT »A male attempting to steal a Galaxy 4 watch from AT&T Wireless, 1939 Old York Road, at 8:38 p.m. May 14 dropped it when confronted and ran, police said.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY » A woman reported at 9:50 p.m. May 14 while stopped at a traffic light at Old Welsh and Edgehill roads a male attempted to get in the rear door of her vehicle, police said. The woman immediatel­y drove away and contacted police, police said.

WEAPONS CHARGE » Two males were taken into custody after officers responded to a panic alarm at 12:17 p.m. May 15 at KFC, 2328 Moreland Road, where they were told of a disturbanc­e involving multiple people who indicated they might be armed with a weapon, police said. Drugs and a firearm with no serial number were found and the two were charged with applicable offenses, police said.

BURGLARY » A small safe and a cat were taken during a burglary reported at 9:18 p.m. May 16 at the Mt. Vernon Apartments in the 800 block of Easton Road, police said.

ROBBERY » Four males robbed the 7-Eleven, 362 Easton Road, at 11 p.m. May 17, taking the clerk’s cellphone and wallet, emptying the registers and filling a trash bag with cigarettes, police said. They fled in two vehicles parked on Keswick Avenue, police said. STOLEN VEHICLE » The driver of a vehicle reported stolen was stopped at Old Welsh and Old York roads at 3:35 p.m. May 18, taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property, police said.

FRAUD » An Abington couple reported being defrauded May 26 by a caller who claimed their grandson was in trouble in another state and needed substantia­l funds to be released from jail, police said. The victims agreed to pay and one male came to their home and took several thousand dollars from them, and later that day another male came to take the remainder of the agreed amount, police said. The suspects were described as males in their 20s, possibly Hispanic or African-American, one wearing a blue shirt and black shorts, police said. A gray SUV or crossover may have been involved, police said.

GUN SHOTS » Officers responded at 4:16 p.m. May 16 to the 500 lock of Jefferson Avenue for a report of a gun shot at a vehicle, police said. Investigat­ion ongoing. THEFT » Items valued at more than $200 were reported stolen at 7:36 p.m. May 16 from an unlocked vehicle in the 7800 block of Oak Lane Road, police said. PROWLING » A 65-year-old man of the 1300 block of North Dove Street, Philadelph­ia, was charged with loitering and prowling at night and disorderly conduct May 17 after officers responded to an alarm in the unit block of Summit Road at 4:03 a.m. and initiated a pedestrian stop, police said. WARRANT » Kasheem Thompson, 18, of the 2300 block of 74th Avenue, Philadelph­ia, was taken into custody at his home at 7:24 a.m. May 17 on an outstandin­g warrant, police said. According to online court records, he has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, four counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault, weapons and related charges in connection with an April 16 incident and is being held at Montgomery County Prison. He also was charged May 25 with misdemeano­r counts of institutio­nal vandalism and criminal mischief, online court records show.

WARRANT » Amir Hill, 27, of the 900 block of Boston Street, Philadelph­ia, was taken into custody at 9:28 a.m. May 17 on an outstandin­g Cheltenham warrant, police said. He has been charged with simple assault, terroristi­c threats, recklessly endangerin­g another person, criminal mischief and harassment in connection with a March 9 incident, online court records show.

ID THEFT » A resident reported May 17 a former coworker gained access to the victim’s personal informatio­n and opened fraudulent accounts in his name, police said.

THEFT » A locked vehicle in the 7500 block of New Second Street was found broken into at 11:45 a.m. May 19 and $1,000 worth of mechanic tools were taken from it, police said. FRAUD » A resident reported being scammed May 19 after purchasing $700 worth of gift cards and giving the cards’ informatio­n to an unknown caller, police said. KIDNAPPING » Beno Ian Williams, 43, and Keyaira Sade Bostic, 33, both of Philadelph­ia, were charged May 19 with conspiracy counts of kidnapping, unlawful restraint, false imprisonme­nt and recklessly endangerin­g another person, online court records show. Bostic was released on $10,000 unsecured bail and Williams is being held in Montgomery County Prison on $10,000 cash bail, records show. A preliminar­y hearing for both is scheduled for June 3.
