William F. Amey, Jr.
William F. Amey, Jr., “Buck” Age 85 of Ambler, died Sunday June 12, 2022 in the Abington Hospital Jefferson Health after a brief stay.
Born in Ambler, he was the son of the late William F. and Dorothy (nee McGary) Amey, Sr., and was preceded in death by his son Scott T. Amey in 2014.
He graduated from Ambler High School Class of 1954 and served in the Army National Guard.
He was a Manufacturing Aerospace Engineer employed by SPS Technologies in Jenkintown for 44 years before his retirement in 1999.
Buck was a 64-year member of the Wissahickon Fire Company, where he served as a Firefighter, Fire Police Captain, and Treasurer. He Volunteered with Ambler Ambulance Assoc. where he was an EMT
and served as Chief. He served as Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America troop at Trinity Episcopal Church. Buck, in later years, was a member of the Fort Washington Historical Society, where he served as the librarian.
Buck served as a PIAA Football official at the High School level and the college level, where he was a game clock official and officiating crew evaluator.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joan T. (nee Tobin) Amey. He is the devoted father of William A. Amey and his wife Deborah of Haycock, PA, and brother of Ronald A. Amey and his wife Pat of Green Valley, AZ.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, with a Funeral Service at 12:30 PM with the Rev. Frank Sayford Officiating.
