-

Karl Franklin Mallory, Jr., 87, of Jamison, PA, formerly of Maple Glen, PA, died on July 12, 2022. He was the loving husband of the late Ruth Ellen (Ironside) Mallory. Karl was born in Yonkers, NY on July 25, 1934 to the late Catherine (Riznychok) and Karl Franklin Mallory, Sr. He is survived by his children Susan Jennifer Mallory Damon (Steve Daniel), John Thomas Mallory (Debra Davis), and his grandson Miles Franklin Damon.

Karl attended Bucknell University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was also in ROTC and served in the US Army, Transportation Research and Engineering Command as a Second Lieutenant Test Engineer.

Karl began his career working for Raytheon on Hawk missile systems. He went on to work at AMF, The Budd Company, and LTK. He held numerous positions involving engineering and quality assurance for a large number of transit and railroad systems worldwide. He often said “I got to go places I never imagined in my wildest dreams.” He retired from LTK in Ambler.

Karl served as a deacon of Supplee Presbyterial Church and sang in the choir. He loved music, played the organ and ukulele, sang in a glee club and formed a quartet in college, and sang often to his family and friends just for fun. Karl loved spending time at Lake Kanawauke in New York and later in the Poconos.

Karl’s family would like to thank the staff at The Bridges at Warwick Assisted Living Community, Fox Rehabilitation, Doylestown Hospital, Christ’s Home Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Ascend Hospice, Seniors Helping Seniors of Bucks County, and Home Helpers for their kindness and excellent care this past year.

Funeral services will be private. Interment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, next to his beloved wife, who passed away in 2006.

Memorial donations in honor of Karl may be made to The Benedictine Sisters (who have been so supportive and have been praying for Karl and his family), St. Scholastica Monastery, 216 Highland Dr., Boerne, TX 78006 or the charity of one’s choice.
