Montco Sheriff Office’s honor guard earns top honors in state

The Montgomery County Sheriff Office’s honor guard were honored for winning first place at the 99th Annual Pennsylvan­ia Sheriff’s Associatio­n Conference held in Altoona, Blair County, July 12 — 16.

It’s been a busy time for this highly sought-after, award-winning unit. Following their recent participat­ion in ceremonies marking the 72nd anniversar­y of the start of the Korean War and flying the colors at Montgomery County Community College’s Fun Fit Flex Day for the Myositis Associatio­n, the squad was more than ready to take their finely honed show on the road. Deputies Bryan Lukens, Michael Wambold, Bryce McMichael, Todd Cappiello, Greg Filoon, and the other members of this elite unit for proudly claimed the trophy back for Montco.
