Program set at Foulkeways to discuss gun violence in nation
GWYNEDD » All are invited to join “The Souls Shot Portrait Project Exhibition” and to have a meaningful conversation about the realities and costs of gun violence, followed by an opportunity to view this moving exhibition.
The exhibition to celebrate the lives of victims and help bring attention to senseless gun violence will be 2 to 3:30 p.m., Thursday, August 25, at Foulkeways Community Center Auditorium, 1120 Meetinghouse Road, Gwynedd. Speakers start at 2 p.m. followed by the exhibition in the Art Gallery.
The Souls Shot Portrait
Project pairs fine artists with families or friends of victims of gun violence. The artists meet with the victims’ loved ones and set out to illuminate and celebrate the lives of these victims.
Pastor Dave Brown, chair of the Philadelphia chapter of Heeding God’s Call To End Gun Violence, along with Bob Fles, will share ways people can join in raising voices against these senseless acts, inspire hope, and motivate lawmakers to take action to prevent future gun violence.
