Touey strikes fast for Drexel

and combined for all the scoring as Drexel topped Lehigh 3-2 on Thursday.

Touey, a sophomore, scored the first two goals of the match for the Dragons marking her first multigoal game at the college level.

Duffy, a freshman, notched her first career tally on a far-post blast from the right flank for the game-winner in the 77th minute.

Emma Roesing (Hatboro-Horsham) started and played all 90 minutes on defense for Lehigh.

• Penn began its season with a pair of draws, tying Temple 0-0 on Friday and Maryland 1-1 on Sunday.

In Sunday’s match, Sizzy Lawton (Upper Dublin) blasted a first half free kick home for her first goal of the season. Sara Readinger (Souderton) started and played all 90 minutes in the midfield.

Readinger and Lawton both started Friday’s opener with Readinger again going the full 90 and putting a shot on goal.

• Leighann Kafel (Archbishop Wood) started both matches for Fairleigh Dickinson this week. The sophomore from Maple Glen played 81 minutes in Thursday’s 3-0 loss to Monmouth and all 90 in Sunday’s 5-0 setback to Virginia.

• West Chester opened its season with a 4-1 win over Jefferson on Thursday. Nicolette Harrison (Pennridge) scored the Golden Rams’ fourth goal off an assist by Alyson Cutter (CB South).

• Bloomsburg opened its season 2-0-0 with a pair of one-goal wins. In Thursday’s 1-0 win over Mercyhurst, Campbell Power (Souderton) started in the midfield and Molly Groff (Pennridge) got the start on defense.

On Sunday, Power again started and put four shots on goal while Groff started on defense. Averie Doughty (Souderton) had a shot off the bench for the Huskies.

• Maddie Angelo (Pennridge) has started three of four matches to open the season with Youngstown State. The sophomore defender has played in all four matches and is averaging 58 minutes per contest.

• High Point’s Lindsey DeHaven (Pennridge) had a shot on goal, started and played 65 minutes in Sunday’s 1-0 loss to William & Mary. DeHaven also started and played 71 minutes in Thursday’s 2-0 loss to East Carolina.

• Taylor Moyer (CB West) started both matches for Saint Peter’s during the week. Moyer put in 50 minutes in Thursday’s 1-0 loss to Long Island University, then posted a shot on goal in 53 minutes during Sunday’s 3-1 loss to Lafayette.

Duke’s Mac Pluck (Germantown Academy) scored a goal, her first of the season, and added an assist as the Blue Devils topped

Charlotte 4-0 on Sunday in women’s soccer.

Pluck, who had two shots on goal in just 49 minutes, has started all four matches for Duke this season and the grad student from Harleysvil­le has two assists on the season.

• Josh Jones (North Penn) started and played all 90 minutes as Louisville knocked off No. 10 Saint Louis 3-1 on Thursday. The sophomore made his 17th career start in 19 games for the Cardinals.

• Holy Family dropped its season opener 5-1 to West Chester on Saturday. Gavin Rowan (Neshaminy) had the lone goal for the Tigers. Koty Taylor (Archbishop

Wood) had two shots, one on goal while Sean Touey (Abington) had a shot for HFU.

FIELD HOCKEY

• Temple’s Molly Frey (Methacton) posted backto-back shutouts in goal to open the season as the Owls topped Lafayette 1-0 on Friday and Lehigh 4-0 on Sunday.

• Grace Wallis (Mount Saint Joseph) started both games for Penn State this weekend, recording a shot

on goal in Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Louisville.

• Indiana’s Kennedy Reardon (Plymouth Whitemarsh) made two starts in the Hoosiers’ 1-0 loss to Kent State and 2-0 setback to Liberty to open the season.

• Virginia freshman Lauren Kenah (Souderton) made her college debut, appearing off the bench in Friday’s 3-2 loss to Penn State and Sunday’s 4-1 win over Delaware.
