Art in the Storefront features greeting card artist

-

AMBLER » Carmelia Tuliszewski is the upcoming exhibitor at Ambler’s Art in the Storefront. An opening reception is planned for Friday, September 16, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the storefront, 41 E. Butler Ave., adjacent to Denney Electric Supply.

Upon completion of her degree from Moore College of Art & Design, Tuliszewski became a commercial artist. She first worked for Hallmark Cards and then as a freelancer with card companies, design firms and publishers throughout the US.

After more than 15 years of freelancing, while she and her husband raised two children, she returned to Moore for graduate work where she earned her PA State Certification in Visual Art, grades K — 12. She taught art for 10 years at a Philadelphia private school.

One evening, while attending a watercolor class at a local community college, her excitement and passion for this medium began. Today, defining characteristics of her watercolors are saturated colors enhanced by dramatic lighting. She also relishes portraying the relationship of objects to one another.

Tuliszewski has been awarded Signature Status in the following: the National Watercolor Society; the Watercolor Honor Society; PA, Phila., Northwest and Baltimore Watercolor Societies.

Since her recent retirement from the classroom, Tuliszewski is pleased to be painting full time. Her work can be viewed and purchased at carmeliatuliszewskiart.com. You can email cmtulis@gmail.com. Original work or giclee prints are available.

The Ambler storefront can be visited anytime as it is lit all evening, compliments of Denney Electric Supply. The tradition has been ongoing for 22 years for the sole purpose of supporting the arts by volunteer co-curators Mark Elliott and Karen Kieser.
