Linda Maria Shawver, 66, of North Wales, PA, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022, in the Heritage Pointe Nursing Home in Doylestown, PA.

Born in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Jeanne (nee Wiesenski) Monaco.

Linda returned to higher education at the age of 34 to pursue a degree in Molecular Biology. She started at Montgomery County Community College and graduated with a B.S. from Beaver College, now Arcadia University. She was a Molecular Biologist employed by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelph­ia (CHOP) and the University of Pennsylvan­ia. Linda thoroughly enjoyed her almost 20 years as a research scientist and laboratory manager for pediatric and adult immunologi­cal research. Linda is a published second author on several scholarly journal articles and is coauthor on dozens more for her achievemen­ts with Natural Killer (NK cells) and T-cell research.

Mrs. Shawver was a member of NRA, Habitat for Humanity, and traveled yearly to Island Beach State Park. Linda was also a member of a monthly journal club when she was employed at CHOP.

Linda enjoyed traveling to the beach at Ocean Gate/Shark River, NJ, gardening, cooking and baking, fly and surf fishing and hunting, tying fishing flies, making artisan jewelry and soaps, as well as helping her community members with housework, outside and inside gardening, grocery shopping and companions­hip.

She is survived by her daughter Reina Shawver of North Wales and her granddaugh­ter, Avigail MonacoTale­se of Ambler, PA. Linda is also survived by her sisters Michelle (David) Woodward of Franconia, PA, Lisa Monaco of Chalfont, PA, Debbie (Frank) Serrao of Lansdale, PA and her brother Skeeter (Sandy) Monaco of Harleysvil­le, PA. Funeral/Memorial Services will be held privately.
