Lillian Goelz

Lillian Goelz, age 100, of Ambler, passed away on September 16, 2022 at the Artman Lutheran Home.

Lillian was born in Philadelph­ia, PA on August 13, 1922 to the late Kazimeras and Agnes (née Reklys) Walis.

Lillian lived a full and active life. During World War II she received commendati­ons from the City of Philadelph­ia for her efforts in selling war bonds. Later she was one of the original board members and founders of the Ambler Adult School. After her son Frank was killed in Vietnam, Lillian become active with the American Gold Star Mothers, serving as treasurer for both the state and local chapters. She loved to travel, visiting Africa, Asia, Europe, and many US national parks.

Lillian is survived by her son, Carl (Susan) Goelz; two grandchild­ren, Jeffrey (Margo) Goelz and Christin (Kevin) Mentrikosk­i; four greatgrand­children, Henry, Luci, Finn, and Rosie.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank X. Goelz and son, Frank G. Goelz.

Lillian will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery along with her “two Franks”, husband and son.

She will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lillian’s name may be made to the American Gold Star MothersNor­th Penn Chapter (1134 Harrogate Way, Ambler, PA 19002).
