Lillian Goelz

Lillian Goelz, age 100, of Ambler, passed away on September 16, 2022 at the Artman Lutheran Home.

Lillian was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 13, 1922 to the late Kazimeras and Agnes (née Reklys) Walis.

Lillian lived a full and active life. During World War II she received commendations from the City of Philadelphia for her efforts in selling war bonds. Later she was one of the original board members and founders of the Ambler Adult School. After her son Frank was killed in Vietnam, Lillian become active with the American Gold Star Mothers, serving as treasurer for both the state and local chapters. She loved to travel, visiting Africa, Asia, Europe, and many US national parks.

Lillian is survived by her son, Carl (Susan) Goelz; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Margo) Goelz and Christin (Kevin) Mentrikoski; four greatgrandchildren, Henry, Luci, Finn, and Rosie.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank X. Goelz and son, Frank G. Goelz.

Lillian will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery along with her “two Franks”, husband and son.

She will be missed.
