Thomas Reilley
Thomas Reilley, age 92 of Ambler PA, and Belgrade Lakes, ME. died peacefully on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 in the Artman Home in Ambler.
Born in Philadelphia, PA., he was the son of the late John and Helen (nee Fling) Reilley.
Tom attended Thomas Williams Jr. High & Cheltenham High School, graduating in 1947. During the Korean Conflict, he served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army, working with the Korean Military Advisory Group and Combat Engineers, building MASH units and bridges. Tom attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Architecture and Fine Arts, graduating in 1954. He was a professional Architect for 70 years practicing in PA, NJ, DE, MD, NY, & ME. He worked for both McCormick Engineering and Wagner Architects, Philadelphia. He was a founding partner of Miller and Reilley, Architects; Miller, Reilley, Philip, and Wampole, Architects, and the Corinthian Organization.
Mr. Reilley was a member and Trustee of Calvary Methodist Church; former member of Ambler Jaycees; Past President of Ambler Rotary Club; former member of the board of directors of Ambler Savings Bank; former member of Ambler Borough Zoning Hearing Board; former Ambler Borough building inspector; and Ambler Borough fire code appeals board member; and a member of the North Montco Technical School advisory board.
Tom’s interests include sailing, boatbuilding, genealogy, and working on the cabin in Maine, along with his children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Carol W. (nee Weston) Reilley. He is the beloved father of John T. (Barbara Martindale) Reilley of Delaware City, DE, Robert S. (Joanne) Reilley of Harleysville, PA, Mark E. (Diana) Reilley of Boothbay Harbor, ME, Douglas D.(Kathi) Reilley of Ambler, Timothy E. (Kathy) Reilley, New Gloucester, ME. Tom was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Marie S. (nee Santoro) Reilley in May 2019. He is the cherished grandfather of Kathleen (Annie) Steele of Blue Bell, PA, Sarah (Thomas) Zodrow of Harleysville, PA, Patrick Reilley of Souderton, PA, Michele (Olivier Boisgris) Reilley of Nashville, TN, Sean (Natalie) Reilley of North Wales, PA, and Conor (Julia) Reilley of Lansdale, PA. He is also the dear great-grandfather of five.
The Funeral Service will be held privately.
