Vote to get country on right track

-

We live in a political environment where elites believe their status in society confers omnipotence.

In a media driven culture where headline-grabbing gestures count for more than genuine accomplishments, the knee-jerk response to almost every minor incident is to demand a new law, or regulation, or failing either, a new judicial precedent. Each unique issue may have merit but they’re not all nails and the solutions aren’t bigger hammers.

The Law is not a hammer, an instrument of force, to pound us all until we believe the illusion of government-granted equity. Lady Liberty no longer has a torch and the Declaration of Independence in her hands but a hammer and a sickle.

There’s an emptiness about this strategy because the proposals/laws/ regulations aren’t really needed. They’re a show. We already have what we need, a Constitution and its amendments. The Social Democrats in Congress know legal change is an end itself, a justification for existence. Each new law/regulation/judicial precedent leads to a bureaucratic expansion, a larger plantation and more captive voters.

But all this regulatory, legislative and judicial activism has not made the nation safer, better or fairer. Just the opposite is true. Look at the Democratic controlled cities and townships. It’s resulted in more crime, in diminished quality of life, in poor schooling outcomes, and in crumbling infrastructures. Ignore the propaganda, think about the future you want. We still have a democracy and your vote can put us back on the right track.
