Career day for Penn State’s Tarburton

• Nick Tarburton (Pennridge) had a career day as Penn State outlasted Northweste­rn 17-7 on Saturday. The defensive end recorded a strip-sack for a five-yard loss that created a fumble while also recovering a fumble on another opportunit­y.

Abdul Carter (La Salle) made two tackles, one for loss.

• Shane Hartzell (Pennridge) had four tackles and a quarterbac­k hit as Villanova hammered Maine 45-20 on Saturday.

• Jackson Taylor (Abington) made eight tackles, including a half-sack and 4.5 stops for loss and recovered a fumble as West Chester fell 21-14 to Bloomsburg on Saturday. Sterlen Barr (Upper Moreland) made a tackle while Shemar Edwards (North Penn) broke up a pass. Quinton Derr (Upper Dublin) and Luke Stengel (Archbishop Wood) started on the offensive line. Chris Barbera (Upper Dublin) punted four times for a 40.8 yard average.

For Bloomsburg, Ryan D’Ambra (Wood) came through with his first career blocked punt. Matthew Bowes (La Salle) finished with two receptions for 28 yards.

• Darryl Davis-McNeil ran 17 times for 67 yards as Kutztown beat East Stroudsbur­g 24-20 on Saturday. Albert Glasgow (Archbishop Wood) and Ryan Schernecke (Upper Moreland) helped clear his way on the offensive line.

• Tahmir Barksdale (Archbishop Wood) hauled in seven passes for 113 yards and a touchdown as Del Val defeated Stevenson 26-7 on Saturday. Jordan Collazo (Hatboro-Horsham) had a reception for 20 yards and a touchdown.

• Nick Chapman (HatboroHor­sham) made 10 tackles, including two sacks, registered another hit on the quarterbac­k and broke up a pass. Cole Kitchen (Hatboro-Horsham) had four stops and a sack.

• Nasir Peoples (Archbishop Wood) made two tackles and broke up a pass at safety for Virginia Tech in Saturday’s 41-10 loss to North Carolina.

• Brett Gross (Archbishop Wood) made 14 tackles, one for a loss, as Ursinus fell 1712 to Susquehann­a on Saturday. Ryan DiVergilis (Wood) was in on 10 stops at safety, including a tackle for a loss and broke up two passes. William Tatlonghar­i (La Salle) had 1.5 tackles for loss among his four stops and Sean Spinosa (Germantown Academy) made two tackles
