Dancers of ALL Ages Getting the Best
Pottstown Dance Theatre, directed by local businesswoman Michelle Jones Wurtz, brings dancers the very best training to every age. The school was founded in 1964 and Ms. Wurtz became the new director in 2001. At that time, the studio was best known for training serious ballet students and many alumnae went on to dance for San Francisco Ballet, Atlantic Festival Ballet, and Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet. Michelle loves diversity and added tap dance, jazz and modern dance, African Dance, Irish Dance, hip-hop, and Breakdancing. Now the dancers learn from famous instructors including Ricky Dieter of Muhlenberg College, John Corsa of Momix, and her students currently work as dancers/choreographers for Beyonce, Cleveland Ballet, and Melange
Contemporary Dance.
Younger dancers are learning from Krysta Bernhardt who holds a BFA in Musical Theater from the University of the Arts! She is known as a Renaissance Woman and sings, dances, acts, and paints. The studio is lucky to be under the direction of International Dancer, Ms. Wurtz.
