District Doubles: In District 1-2A doubles action, Lower Moreland’s Sarah and Rebecca Kideckel fell in the finals to Merion Mercy’s Ashley Gomes/Sofia Berestetsk­a.

Upper Dublin 1, Hatboro-Horsham 0: Alex Dever scored the lone goal of the game as the Cardinals (10-5-1) picked up the win on Wednesday in SOL Liberty play.

Upper Moreland 5, New HopeSolebu­ry 0: Kylie Wiest collected a hat trick as the Golden Bears closed out the regular season in convincing fashion on Wednesday. Willow Taylor added two goals, while Brooke Lobban added two assists. Natalie Walton recorded her sixth shutout of the season in net. “The atmosphere for tonight’s game was electric,” UM Head Coach Lisa Benvenuto said. “It was such a great night for our team and our senior class. We had a really good crowd out supporting us; students, parents, families, UMSC youth teams, and even alumni — it was an awesome experience and environmen­t for the girls to play in. Kudos to

Maddie McCloud, Paige Eckert and Ava DeGeorge picked up the assists. Goalie Lauren Green finished the regular season with her seventh shutout in PCL play.

Abington 6, Wissahicko­n 1: Piper McGinley scored two goals and added two assists as the Ghosts picked up the SOL Liberty win on Tuesday. Lily Gray added two goals, while Carley Slavin also scored for Abington. Emma Greenberg scored for Wiss.

Upper Dublin 2, Plymouth Whitemarsh 0: Anna DiMartile and Alex Devers provided the scoring as the Cardinals (9-5-1) survived the Colonials (8-7-1) on Monday. Meg McMeel and Regan Rubin were credited with assists. Mount St. Joe’s 1, Pope John Paul II 0: Only one half was played due to field conditions, but The Magic pulled out the nonconfere­nce win on Monday. PJP junior Kyanni Escudero made five saves in net for PJP.

Upper Moreland 3, Cheltenham 0: Kylie Wiest, Brooke Lobban and Willow Taylor scored the goals as the Golden Bears rolled to the SOL Freedom win on Monday. Willow Taylor was credited with two assists.

“We were able to get on the scoreboard early, and by doing so had some flexibilit­y in positionin­g and play,” UM Head Coach Lisa Benvenuto said. “Today’s match was a collective team win, with contributi­ons from all that stepped on the field.”

Boys soccer

Hatboro-Horsham 2, Quakertown 0: JR Fulginiti scored two goals as the Hatters (12-5) picked up the SOL Liberty win on Monday. Jake Freedman was credited with one assist, while Jeff Matulla recorded the shutout with five saves in net.

Upper Dublin 5, Wissahicko­n 2: Jack O’Donnell and Michael Om scored for the Trojans in a losing effort to the Cards in SOL Liberty action on Monday.

Field hockey

PCL All-League: The All-Catholic team was announced on Friday and the locals were well-represente­d. Archbishop Carroll’s Cait McConaghy at midfield, forward Sienna Golden and midfielder Courtland Schumacher were all firstteame­rs. LC’s mifielder Anna Cusumano and goalie Katie Herron were also first-team selections. From Archbishop Wood, midfielder Angela Cavallro and midfielder Dylan Miller also made the first team. Archbishop Carroll’s midfielder Megan Sheridan and goalie Arianna Hall were second-team selections, as was LC’s Brianna Gardiner.

Pope John Paul II 2, Archbishop Wood 0: Katie Nilles and Grace Mondillo scored for the Golden Panthers in a non-league win Thursday. Gianna Manza made six saves in goal. Springfiel­d-Montco 8, Cheltenham 0: Emma Yoder scored three goals as the Spartans won big on Senior Night. Senior Hailey Lesniak added two goals and two assists, while also scoring were Natalie Rittler, Angela Eder and senior Celia Wright. Cheltenham goalie Finnegan Boyle finished with 36saves.

Girls volleyball

CB West 3, Hatboro-Horsham 0: Alexis Barklage had nine kills, one block, two aces and two digs as the Bucks swept to the victory on Monday by scores of 25-19, 25-22and 25-18. Also standing out for CB West were Rachel Hu (5kills, 3aces, 9digs, 1assist), Mackenzie Lund (3kills, 3aces, 2blocks, 2digs), Hollis Walton (5kills, 1ace, 1 block), Presley Adams (4 kills, 1 block), Elisa Kremser (1kill, 1block, 12assists), Erin Ferello (10 assists, 1 ace), Alexa Lee (5aces, 7digs), Amber Woodring (7digs) and Caroline Taylor (5digs).

Golf

PIAA Championsh­ips: CB South’s Noah Moeller took sixth in the 3A Championsh­ips with an overall score of 148, eight strokes behind winner Dylan Ramsey of Cedar Crest at Penn State on Tuesday. Also standing out for the boys were La Salle’s Tyler Leyden (10th place/149), Springfiel­d-Montco’s Adam Pluehr (10th/149), CB West’s Charles Feraco (23rd/151and La Salle’s Kevin Lafond (23rd/151). For the girls, CB West’s Abigail Lynn led the local contingent with an 8th-place finish with a score of 151. PW’s Rhianna Gooneratne wasn’t far behind with an 11th-place finish in 154, while North Penn’s Hayley Ekert took 19th in 165and Wood’s Lola Barnett was 21st with a 166.
